I'm so fed up with Riot's balance decisions right now

Like holy shit, we get it, you want to balance over pro play, but that upsets about 99.9% of the player base. So maybe... STOP BALANCING THROUGH FUCKING PRO PLAY. PLEASE.

But no, you won't stop. Instead of acknowledging that your focus on pro gameplay is way too obvious and that you are making mistakes, despite what a good portion of the community says, you continue to do the same thing. Honestly rito get your head out of your asses please because if you guys don't learn to balance soon (for season 9) this game is going in the gutter for me.

"Stop nerfing champions that are OP in pro-play!"

Yeah no. If it's OP in pro-play, it needs to be nerfed. Otherwise there's zero fucking point to climb to where Ryze Shen and Sejuani are the only useful champions.

Imagine if Riot left Yi at an 70% winrate in Silver solely because he was okay in pro-play. It'd be shitty, wouldn't it? Same concept. Riot isn't going to let a single champion be broken as fuck at any tier just so that the other side of the spectrum can use them.

Just gonna say balancing around pro play is like designing and coding games so that they are difficult for your world record speed runners the tech some of these people are capable of are actually just unrealistic to think any normal person is capable of replicating. People watch the pro scene because they want to see the game they normally play done at the highest level. Not to see how they need to play the game to be effective at it. It's stuff like this that really makes me miss the season 3 meta where it was a huge focus on out trading and securing that early gold lead over your opponent. individual lanes weren't lost unless you were really bad till 15 mins into a game FB usually happened around the 10 min mark. Tanks tanked bruisers did a mix and carry's did damage imo it was the best and healthiest season league ever had. Only perma ban in solo queue at the time was kass, and honestly I miss those days.

you know, many people actually care about interesting worlds gameplay and are fine with the changes.

it's for one patch, jesus. at least we don't get to see ardent janna lulu all day again.

No. Why the hell would you ever balance the game for regular people. The reason they balance around pro play is because there the best players in the game. There's a reason why most if not all competitive games balance around pro play.

So yeah, you ppl are saying that, if you actually put in the effort to legit CLIMB in rank, you are to be rewarded with a worse gameplay experience. Yeah, that sounds OK, sure!

The problem with this logic is that if the game gets LESS FUN the better you are at it, people will quit as they get better at the game.

If the game is awful to play when you're really good at it, where's your motivation to get better?

I'm completely in for balancing for high tier. Meaning: Diamond+. But I'm also completely against balancing after pro-play. Pro-play doesn't resemble the actual game in solo-queue in any way, be it high-rank or low-rank. I mean, why the fuck would you buff Pyke? He's almost pick-ban in high-rank already and near pick-ban below Dia as well. Coordinated Pro-play has completely different rules compared to anything you can experience in solo queue.

I think if they want to maintain a competitive scene, they kinda have to balance around pro-play. It can be frustrating, but I do not think there is a good alternative outside of having two separate games.

Riot is balancing the game around 5 players playing vs 5 players, what already is not SoloQ. SoloQ is not 5v5 it is 1+1+1+1+1 v 1+1+1+1+1. The amount of commuication in pro play completly changes the game. Champions with big range abilities like Ryze, Jinx, Ezreal, Shen and Soraka (for example) tent to work better with communication. That especially goes for Ryze.

In the end League is supposed to be played 5v5, which is why I don't even understand why riot is not trying to work against the whole "SoloQ is only Q" idea, because the game has become big enough that you can find 5 people to meet up in Discord and Teamspeak to with to play as a team.
