Riot, please add diversity by adding items, not removing them.

Keep the old items (except for the problem items, such as DFG. Although I think DFG could have just been nerfed extremely hard, so that it wasnt such a problem)

Alot of the times, you guys remove great items (such as old zekes) and place a new item. It would be alot cooler if we had both items. I actually used old Zekes ALOT when we had 5 ad. It is a great item for 5 ad comps.

Why remove diversity? It is a horrible decision. The new juggernaut items are a step in the right direction, because they added new items, while still keeping the old ones. When you remake ADCs, please dont remove old items, thank you.

The coolest result imo would be that we find all the existing items a home, in addition to adding new ones every now and again. However, I will say that it's not always super easy to actually find those items their home. Ohmwrecker and Zz'rot Portal, as examples, haven't really ever caught on or been seen as effective, so in the case of items that just don't ever catch on, I do think that both removal or continued support are viable options. Removal may sound like an unpopular opinion in these cases, but it's important to keep in mind that continued support of such items does come at the cost of something else, like creating new items.

Increasing the item count in the game is not the same thing as increasing diversity.

The more and more items we have in the game, the more and more items that need to be considered in any given game, and items that aren't good will get pushed down the rabbit hole over better options. When that option gets buffed, it might just become the new best option. The reverse of that is also true: if one option is better than others, then there's no reason to build the other options, and when it gets nerfed it might become a bad option.

The more items you have, the more items that don't receive play this way. In a sense, adding items would actually decrease diversity by adding more options that are either ideal or suboptimal in nearly every situation.

A good example of this is with Runeglaive and Magus. Keep both items in, and the jungling champion pool gets decided on who can use which item better rather than them being used for their unique strengths. Same thing with Zeke's; everyone will just use the better item without giving consideration to the other item, and most people will choose Harbinger over Herald.

R.I.P. Executioner's Calling item 3070

Yeah, removing items just because they aren't picked up often isn't a good solution, although that's not really what's happening, the problem is that where there should be several ways to play a champion, they are made up of what stats you build, but there should be multiple ways to play an ap, etc, champion than just tanky, hybrid, ap, etc. It would help to change things so that the same items don't get bought every game as a core item on most of that class, such as Deathcap. I don't want to get rid of these items or anything, but it would be cool if there were more alternatives.

I used to build zekes Herald on reksai RekSai support . It gave me hp, cdr, lifesteal ,ad and the aura which was nice because my adc could build only crit without having to sacrifice having no sustain . But you know item 3050 is nice because now i get mana and ap now both are great on reksai.item 3070 But honestly no one buys it now, the stacks are never up at the right time on SR . Tanky supports dont need the apBraum Nautilus Leona ,ap supports have better items choices item 3165 for mana , ap and cdr .It went form a niche pick to basically a never pick. I see it on howling abyss every now and then.

There's too much going on in LoL that by adding more items means spoiling an already sponged game design.

So no.

I see what's wrong with LoL. This will not help.

Instead, make a separate game mode allowing an excess of items, adverse or not, where then normal games do not compromise to more inconsistency.

Trap choices are not 'diversity'.

I didn't even use Zeke's Herald on GP support.

And that item was pretty much prefect for him.

Aside from what Kamquats already said, I don't think you realize the magnitude of how complex the affects are when just adding 1 single item to the game. Buffing or nerfing a champion is simpler because it affects that one champion and gauge its performance easily.

Adding a whole new item means it interacts with EVERY champion in the game with EVERY kit and EVERY other item in the game. A lot more variables come into play. So again, adding items =/= diversity. It's not that simple. People sometimes fail to realize how complex league really is underneath the surface
