"MVP" SYSTEM to improve player base in ranked.

I just finished a game in which I went 8/3/4 and...I got demoted. This kind of thing can not stand. Especially in a game like LoL where players are suppose to be ranked based on their skill and not luck. (Yes, Luck) You're lucky if you get into a game with players that don't feed. You're lucky if you get into a game without trolls, or racists, or misogynists. I understand that this is a team oriented game, but not everyone has a lane partner or someone reliable to queue with. Riot HAS to do something to make the game more ENJOYABLE and less FRUSTRATING for SOLO QUEUERS. So here's my humble suggestion.

Implement an "MVP" SYSTEM in ranked queue. The player with the best K/D spread on the winning team gets a little extra LP. The player on the losing team with the best K/D spread DOESN'T LOSE ANY LP. This system would instill a sense of fairness and balance when it comes to lower tiers like SILVER & BRONZE. It would give every player something to strive towards EVEN IF THEY'RE LOSING. With this MVP SYSTEM in place not only would players fight harder but they would WORK TOGETHER MORE OFTEN because of the INCENTIVE.

This may seem like a small change to some, but I feel it's exactly what the game needs in order to get players to stop griefing and get their heads in the game.

So what do you guys think? Leave a comment. Upvote if you like the idea. I think this will go a long way to making League a much less toxic game. So let's gets some Rioters in on this and see what they have to say.

I also forgot the mention something important. All members of a surrendering team would be unable to be MVP. This way you won't have people begging to ff just so they can be MVP. It's about buckling down and fighting til the end, not gaming the system.

KD doesn't mean anything. Also, if that were the case, nobody would want to die or make plays. Horrible idea.

What prevents someone from being 5/0 in lane and going "AFK, mid is 1/4 .... ? That "MVP" just threw the game because he felt it was a "losing effort". KDA will NEVER be an accurate representation of performance in a game. I've seen people be 12/0/2 - they got that way by not engaging, waiting till team fights happened, cleaning up, and then running away. Never pushed objects, just trolled for kills, and then would stay hiding in the jungle, but that's an MVP performance by KDA standards.

I'm not sure about not losing any LP at all because in fact your team did still lose despite how you may have performed, perhaps losing less LP. Also it can't be based off just KDA because it's not always the person with the highest KDA that was the "MVP" on your team, that would go to the person with the best objective control, CS, lane pushing, vision provided, damage done, damage taken, skills blocked for allies. you mentioned incentive for people to work together and push harder, I can see that but I also see people trying to exploit this by perhaps letting the current MVP die intentionally to boost their own score. While I agree with some of the ideas you have I feel like this would be a difficult system to implement and may do more harm than good so to speak. I do completely agree that something needs to be done about ranked games that end with 2 afks or team of feeders, would it be so much to ask for LP to be altered after a game is complete based on the amount of reports and someone looking into the game? Like if someone is banned based on the reports from that particular game the losing team could be compensated with half or even all of their LP lost being returned based on the circumstances.

I thinks it is a pretty good idea. I think the rating for MVP need to take into account more than KDA ratios. As a tank, you may die have more deaths and less kills, but you may be deserving of MVP. I think the system should take into account KDA as well as when the game finishes before you can leave the lobby, a screen pops up where you have to vote for your teams MVP. The system would take into account like 40% KDA and 60% mandatory end game vote. This will also encourage sportsmanship. The system would probably would not be as effective if you have like a 4 player dynamic que though

What a great idea! Turn a TEAM game into a ME game

this system is unnecessary.. you will rank up when you learn how to play the game

Play as a TEAM instead and so much stuff gets done! You DON'T need to chase down every kill ever! Objectives (Dragon, Baron, Rift Herald, Towers) provide more impact for your team then just one person getting lots of kills. If you die and you had the most kills on your team suddenly your team doesn't have much of a chance until you respawn.

I feel like you guys are getting caught up on the KDS thing instead of looking at the bigger picture. If you don't like the KDS thing, then just use the already existing GRADING system in the game. It doesn't matter, the goal is to promote less toxic behavior in players that are losing while at the same time giving them a sense that of hope that all isn't loss because bot fed, and jungle refuses to gank because you wouldn't trade roles with them in champ select.

K/D isn't anything. Objectives, farm, putting pressure on the opponents, working well with the team. That's what makes an MVP performance. K/D is useless if you're not using it. If you're 20/5 but all you try to do is 1v5 rather than win the game, you'll eventually end up throwing.
