Thoughts on pyke?

I want to know what people actually think of Pyke. Playing him, playing against him, working in tandem with him on your team, etc.

Honestly, I think Riot's intention to make sure he is a lethality building support have ruined him. His original release had no lethality scalings, didn't feel anywhere near as oppressive and even with a bullcrap ult that scales by level, couldn't only really execute you at 25% HP or less.

With his bAD increases in first few patches and the addition of lethality scalings, no minion damage on E and his ult doing 250 at level 6 they changed a unique fun champ into a joke. No way should an support be executing me at 35% or higher and getting so much gold and no way should he have so much safety, CC and a reset on an assassin.

Revert all changes made to him and put him back to release Pyke. I'll happily take tank Pyke over what we have now at least his ult was fairer.

He's very fun to play. Feels impactful at every stage of the game.

Playing against him feels quite fair. Everything he does is telegraphed, and easy to dodge if you know it's coming. The only problem is when your teammate doesn't understand this and tanks every single hook or tries to poke out Pyke instead of his carry.

Having him on my team depends on the Pyke player. A good one can carry. A bad one does nothing.

It's like he was designed to be the most frustrating part of blitz and an assassin when playing against him. He enables lvl 1 invades which makes things worse.

His design is interesting, but it's bad because of all the things he has. He's an "assassin support", who gets played like a normal assassin who just has all these extra things in his kit to make it all worse. A few changes could make a balanced champion, like reducing his safety and the shared gold from his ultimate.

That being said, he's better design than the atrocity named Yuumi.

playing him: meh not really reliable for my taste

playing against him: laugh as an ali, taric, or braum working with one: idk but by the looks of it i don't envy whoever he is "supporting"

He's busted af in low elo strictly speaking. Not if he's kept in the dirt but he gets ahead way too easy and in low elo some idiot always feeds him. My post got deleted but I want them to nerf his damage personally if he's played as support. Our Twitch fed the hell out of him and he got so ahead that his ult was killing me as a tank at half health. People argue "NUH UH, HIS ULT IS AT 30% ONLY DUUUH" but people apparently just forget about raw damage regardless of the execute mechanic, especially when he's 19-1... You can't nuke him easily because his health unless you have a ton of CC, he caught me through a flash and 2 blast plants because he's so fast. The hook is constant... I just hate this champion passionately. There are NO close fights with his ult either. I've watched him ult spam an entire team far too many times.

As someone who mastered Pyke, I think he is fine, not great, but not bad either, something in between. Even tho I don't play him as often as I used to, he is still fun...

The thing I don't like about Pyke is how safe he is. He can easily engage and get away safely as long as he has his W. Or just trying to catch him is very difficult with his mobility. That is one of the reasons I moved away from Pyke, not a big fan of his safety...

As the first comment said, It depends on the person playing Pyke. I can easily carry with Pyke alone, but If someone inexperienced play him, he's as good as late game Nasus with 0 stacks on his Q.

Playing him- not my cup of tea. His cc is too slow to reliably peel in teamfights, and I like keeping my AD alive.

Playing against- terrible. He has pretty low cooldowns for a hook support, so the whole "you get to play dodgeball all lane" thing with him is pretty bad. He's extremely hard to kill since he can brainlessly dash and invis away from every engage.

Playing with- also terrible. Most pykes dont care at all about their adc and tend to roam at suboptimal times. Even if they lane correctly, they're supposed to play dive in fights which leaves you out to die as an adc if you're against any divers or assassins.

I think his release was a step backwards and pandering to people who shouldn't be playing the support role in the first place.
