If you check any runepage with ArPen runes on it, you may notice that they have changed to Lethality. Those of us who think: Wait but lethality is bad and I dont want it? Yup.

Thing is if armor pen is being replaced by Lethality then they need to make changes on items like Black cleaver/last whisper and make it indefinite.
Chamuel851 votesNo, they are different. Black Cleaver and Last Whisper are % armor penetration. This is effective versus tanks. Armor Penetration is AMAZINGLY effective verses low armor targets. It is an entirely different stat. Armor Pen as ti was gave a huge early spike that kind of overtook too much especially on certain adcs. Thus Lethality was introduced to not be as good early, but still good late on late game low armor targets. Thus what assassins would still want. They aren't the same.
That is why % Armor pen is not as abusive as Armor Penetration was.
