well if you just picked him up you're not going to be proficient in him immediately. Takes practice.

I find shen teaches you a lot about communication with team and shot calling. Playing shen requires a lot of typing and planning to teammates / shot calling. Always give them timers on your ult etc keep them posted.

Also after a while you learn how to gauge a person whether they are really ready to go in or not. Use ping very well. Give them a heads up before the game starts if I ping your lane that means I have ult and I'm ready when you are. I've learned the hard way thinking were on the same page when we arent. Always keep eye out while shopping etc I've often took my eye off the map for one split second only to find out I could of saved a team mate. Get some ap or try to gain experience fast since level 1 ult isn't that big.
