This is far worst decision of Riot, i understand in pro play and high elo this is problematic but right now this champion have haha-like winratio (45-47%) and is still countered by far every champion on top, outcluding Nasus or Udyr. This is like a joke, you changed him to mega op form month ago only to taki his revive away and make it justified. This disguists me, his revive IS toxic and all but you definetly can remake it and dont take it entirely away. Change the duration, change amount of regenerated hp to be based on dmg he dealt during ultimate, snear him or freeze his cooldowns while reviving. So many options to make it not so toxic and still fun to play. But no, lets remove it entirely, even when this champion have so stupid ass small winrate.

They did try to rework his revive. Twice. It turned out to be difficult to balance, and unfun to play around. While this decision is saddening from a thematic standpoint, it’s better for his balance in the long term.

A rather useless part of his kit that took up too much of his power budget.

Better to remove it and be buffed or it instead of having it stay and likely warrant damage or sustain nerfs (aka going back to square one). I main him, and I could honestly do away with the revive if it means I can get better shit in return.

My only problem with this is it wasn't long after riot said they would not touch his revive

Just like they said ad malz jungle will be fine after they change malz (they removed his ad ratios)

In my experience the revive always worked like a win more condition, when I got a solo kill in lane the revive didn't help secure it. The best case scenario was I got ganked, killed my laner in the process, revived and survived the gank, but that rarely happened. Most usually the ult helped secure a kill in a teamfight by surviving long enough with healing, and dealing enough aoe dmg to kill thier mid, adc or support, then reviving to help clean up a fight we already won or if ahead, forcing a fight under tower and healing through all the damage and not needing it. Not relying on a revive will lead to smarter dives and less outplay potential from the enemy team. The revive was based on takedowns, without it the worst case scenario is you go 1 for 1.
