Ban the 3 champions that will give your team composition the most problems.
Find out what your teammates are playing, find out which champions they can't handle (whether the player or champion counter-picks), and ban based on that.
Outplay the others, either by coordinating your team or simply being a better player.
Well heres the thing.
anything more than 3 per team can completely fuck up one persons entire champ selection. so, by keeping it at 3 per team, anyone who buys even just the 450 champs will always have a guaranteed chance of having a champ to select.

Never. Why? Because it's meant to be a tough choice. Each team gets three picks, and hopes to god, they banned the right champions from the pool. I myself will eventually buy a bunch of champions I have no intention of using, just so they get picked over champs I will use.
