Hello, I am new to League of Legends and I wanted to see if I could interact with the community through this boards, I have been playing for almost two weeks and I play with 3 champions (Ashe, Akali, and Sona). Can anyone give me some tips on some certain things?

How would you guys play with Twisted Fate? He's someone I'd love to play with, with his amazing design. What upgrades would he need? What items would he need? Is there any combos I should know about?

Sorry for the random questions, nice to meet all of you on the boards.

Hello!

As you can tell by my name, I main Katarina Katarina. Nice to meet you.

I have been playing for almost two weeks and I play with 3 champions (Ashe, Akali, and Sona). Can anyone give me some tips on some certain things?

  1. Ashe

Ashe is really strong right now. A good pick indeed. I don't know to much about her, but the main thing I could say to you is play really safe in team fights. Ashe is one of the ADC's that has no escapeds, and can be easily picked off by someone like FizzFizz , ZedZed , or even mobile mages like Ahri Ahri . If you do get picked off though, try to use your ultimate ability to stun them and escape. (sorry for lame advice)

  1. Akali

Akali is a bit outdated, but can still be really strong if you get ahead. You just have to play really safe before you hit level 6, but once you do get your ult. you can run down to bot lane and use it to catch out the enemy ADC and or support. Try not to pick her into a team with a lot of Crowd Control (I.e. LeonaLeona , Lissandra Lissandra , and galio Galio )

  1. Sona

Sona is also a very strong pick right now. All I know about her really is to get thunderlords and build some AP along with your support build, because you can be a huge lane bully and solo carry your ADC.

How would you guys play with Twisted Fate? He's someone I'd love to play with, with his amazing design.

Normally on TF, you want to just farm with your blue card early on for mana sustain, and use your ultimate to roam around and help other lanes. For trading in lane, hit the enemy with a stun and throw your tri-cards out for some nice dmg. Don't push lane to hard, or the jungler will come and kill you fairly easily.

What upgrades would he need?

As TF is an auto attack incorporated mage, things like item 3100 and item 3285 can be very strong on him, as they give him a lot of burst. TF doesn't have any heavy combos, but ide say the most important thing while roaming with your ult is to pull out a Yellow card ahead of time to stun any enemies once you arrive.

Sorry for the random questions, nice to meet all of you on the boards.

Nice to meet you, welcome!

If you need champion builds then i recommend you check champion.gg . It's really helpful.

I suggest Mobafire for builds and guides.

Alkali and Twisted Fate are way too hard for you. Play simple champions so you can focus on other aspects of the game and you will improve at a fast rate. Ashe is fine. Swain, Vladimir, and Miss Fortune are some other good mid/adc champions because they are strong and require low mechanical skill. It's really hard to make a misplay with them. Also watching coaching videos can help improve your understanding of the game and they will tell you what you should be doing. I have played around 1,000 games with Ahri and she's much easier than Twisted Fate yet I still can't use her to het full potential.

for tf a good starting place for a build/runes is below. Make sure to think about all the viable items and what you need for each specific game you play. for example if you are against a lot of magic damage and a single ability like a blitz hook keeps destroying you a banshees is a good defensive item. Or if the enemy has a lot of mr get that void staff earlier than usual. http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/s6-make-your-own-luck-twisted-fate-guide-428253

when playing TF you have to use blue cards to keep your mana high. If you are low or even under 80% mana its often a good idea to use the blue card to harass or cs. If you use the blue card to cs try to do it at a time where your lane opponent cant initiate a trade since you wont win that trade while your pick a card is down. Also try to trade when your e is up it adds a little extra punch to the trades. a lot of new TF players just ignore e since it is a passive ability.

red cards are for pushing the wave with its aoe or hitting a group of players.

the yellow card is your stun. if you are high mana this is the best card to trade with vs a single target.

once you have your sheen make sure to AA after every ability for those procs, a devastating combo is yellow card -> AA with item 3100 and stacked deck ->wild cards -> another item 3100 proc

also when you are 6 you want to watch all lanes and look for good times to ult in to top/bot for kills (make sure to come in with a yellow card ready)

if you want more help you can add me in-game and we can play a few.

Welcome to the game and hope you enjoy it.

The learning curve in league is actually pretty steep, with so many champs, items as starters, then there are alot of hidden mechanics such as zoning and things that aren't taught such as jungle basics and smite tricks.

While learning new champs is fine and dandy, here is what I suggest:

  1. Try every item, don't just look at them and read them, buy them, play with them, get a feel for them.

  2. Eventually, try every champ at least 5-10 times. Esp during free rotation. It'll give you a hang of how champs interact with each other and how they work. You can also find a play style that you enjoy that way as well.

  3. Focus on buying the cheaper champs first, before that crazy 6300 IP yasuo and Azir.

  4. Try to get 2 full general tier-3 rune pages once you hit lvl 20. There are lots of guides on what a general rune page should look like, so look it up.

  5. while looking up guides are nice, focus on understanding the game first. When to buy certain items, why it is being purchased at certain times, which item works well on who and why.

  6. /mute the toxics (or click on that "speaker button" next to their name when you hit tab), you'll see alot more of them when you level up. esp around lvl 10-25. It gets better after that. DO NOT RETALIATE AGAINST THEM, they just want to get you angry.

  7. Don't be afraid to ask questions
