Irelia with no items is just about useless. Mainly because she's level 1 and hasn't left base yet.

Seriously though there are so many counters to her, and on top of that she's been in the meta long enough that people have taken the time to learn how to counter her. She is very strong at team fights, but that's kind of her exact job.

Her sustain is amazing, but her early game damage isn't that great if you don't derp around top with her. She needs a triforce or a bork to do serious damage.
