You don't need all the champs

There are currently 134 champs in League of Legends. I own all champs except for 18. I mainly play about 20 of the ones I own. If a champion looks fun to you, buy them.

But those who think you need them all to rank up are vastly mistaken. I have four friends from high school that are Diamond and don't own them all. They play three to four champs in ranked. They play them not because they're OP, but because they enjoy them. If you think a champ is fun, play and master them. You will rank up with practice. Look up na.op.gg (click the Champions button and select a champion) You will notice that every champ in the game has been in Master or Diamond. The vast majority of us (99%) are not in this rank tier and shouldn't worry about vast champ pools.

So I'm confused why some of us are complacent with the BE gains and capsule drops. Can somebody explain why everyone needs all 134 champs at once to have fun or rank up? I'm a bit confused. Thanks.

I'm a collector. I must collect all the champions. I also never know what champions I'll actually find super fun. I didn't expect to like someone like Lee Sin, or Vi, but I wound up enjoying Vi to the point where she's my go to Jungler currently. Add to this the fact that just having the ability to have access to every champion in the game, if I play them often or not, allows me to trade with friends if they are a late pick in Draft, as well as making ARAM a lot more interesting.

Sure, I it's not needed to have every champion, but the same goes with skins, or even ranked. It's something you do/have because you wanted to do/have it.

Yeah, that makes sense. Adding to what you said about trades: I guess flex 5v5 would especially benefit from owning all the champs when you can communicate with your buddies and have more important picks first/last. Thanks for the feedback.

Most of the complaining is just complaining because people don't like change. There's a few arguments that say unlocking a specific champion is harder now, but I'm not sure whether or not that's actually the case.

It's definitely easier to unlock champions, but that's just because of the random shards you get that unlock champions at a lower cost.

The new system definitely has it's ups and downs. But I agree with you on that- I think it's quicker and easier to unlock new champs now. Only time and math will tell [thumbs_up].

I'm actually questing to collect all the champ shards, not the champions themselves ive ever only been interested in about 20 champs in the roster
