@Zenon about the taliyah change From someone who has played a lot and will continue to play taliyah
So I've been trying out taliyah on the pbe with the new vector cast and there are certain issues i want to discuss about it. I played a lot of custom games just to get the feel of the new w and throughout i couldnt help but feel something was off. I've played almost exclusively taliyah since she came out so i pretty much know all her ranges almost to a fault. But yet the w seemed incredibly hard to hit and then i figured out the real problem i have with it. See the way the current cast works as soon as you hit w the spell casts and 0.75 seconds later the second part will go off depending on if you chose a direction. I feel like without the lockout this would be the most perfect way to cast it. Its fast and precise and maximizes the ability. with vector cast the spell doesnt begin casting till after you have dragged your mouse in the direction and let go of w. This actually adds a substantial amount to the cast time. I'd say it adds roughly half a second or more to the cast time of w and it makes it so easy to walk out off or predict . Ill write it out step by step for comparison Current cast :
- press w
- click in a direction(or press w again) to set the direction
- No matter what happened in step 2 0.75 seconds after you step 1 your w will go off
Vector cast
- press w
- drag in a direction ( this takes roughly a quarter to a half a second depending on how fast you are
- 0.75 seconds after step 2 it pops
this makes the actual delay on your w closer to 1 second or more and as we've seen before with veigar .25 delay can make the difference between a skill feeling like it takes skill to hit and just flat out feeling impossible to hit. At first i really thought i was just bad at vector cast but when a beginner bot walks out of your skillshot you casted directly on him you know somethings up.
I feel like if this one problem is solved then vector cast would be completely fine .
My suggestions are : A. keep it vector cast but make it so the initial cast happens on key press and then you can drag in the direction you want. This would mean that you can still hit. I also feel like this would make her w- e slightly harder to hit depending on how fast you are which can only be seen as healthy becasue after seeing the amount of instant burst you can put out with that combo its not very fair. However the drawback to this is that it might again make the skill gap between experienced and newer players a little bit farther but that's not so bad if shes balanced for experienced people.
B. Keep the current cast paradigm but make it so as soon as you have chosen the direction you are free to cast spells. from what i recall we were told that this was also being tested and im curious as to why you decided to go with vector over this. Because most of the bad comments regarding taliyas w are the same. "the lockout felt clunky". This is my favorite option but that's just my opinion and i acknowledge that many opinions may differ.
TLDR: Vector cast adds more delay to your w making it completely brainless to dodge as long as you aren't standing still feel free to test.
