An Open letter to Yasuo Haters.

I know about the aa bug. I'm not going to talk about that because it is not part of this discussion.

Dear Yasuo Haters,

Yasuo is not broken. At least, his kit isn't.

Yes it may seem like that, but it is not his fault! It's is due to the build path that he can take. A build is crafted to surpass a weakness in a champ. A good example of this is Rumble building item 3152 to help with mobility. Dedicated Yasuo players work to craft a build that will help him stay alive in fights while dish out DMG. That is what EVERY other champ wants. So a build like this would be crafted eventually. It is hard for RIOT to anticipate builds like this and prepare for them and make sure they don't exist.

Someone is going to find a build that works, the person that lost lane is going to look at their build and say, "WOW, that is an interesting build." Then the next team and the team after that may play with that build and soon enough, everyone knows about it.

Look, I'm sorry that Tanksuo works well, but that is no reason to call him broken. If you are calling his kit broken, don't, and make sure what you say is true.

Sincerely, A guy who knows Yasuo but still can't play him.

I disagree, his kit is very toxic. Even when Yasuo was biggest trash in the game at some point, I still cringed when I saw him on the enemy team. He just isnt fun to play against and he never will be. Same as Riven and Lee Sin to some extent. You just cant combine low cooldown dashes with resourceless champions because that makes infinite mobility and that is just toxic for the game. I dont care that Yasuo isnt OP with his normal crit build, I just want him so gutted that he has Urgot pick rate, I think that at least 50% of community feels that way (at least I know that 15-20 of my friends who play all do).

I'm sorry you think that way. I replied to a PuffyP with things that i would say in response to you. You can read that if you want, or you can keep bitching about something that is not true. IDC.

Just look at how many downvotes your post has, and you will see what community thinks of your precious main in any state or form. I put 20$ on rework in season 8.

His kit is overloaded, 14th highest ms speed ingame (this might be outdated), and has infinite dashes, can't catch, can't run away, if you can't instakill him, you are dead, that's how it goes, can't do anything.

I agree with this statement, but sadly the current build on him is quite op. He's currently in a spot where I actually am fine with having a Yasuo on my team because they will most likely carry with how strong his kit is. This is something that I'm not a fan of, most people who play this champion suck, but are still rewarded because of how forgiving his current kit and build are.

Once again, it is his build, not his kit.

If you are bad at Yasuo and play him like he should be built, you will dash in and you will die. They will use his W too early and then the JG will gank him and he will die. He'll ult someone undertower and die. He'll dash into tower range and die. He'll dash to every minion in the wave to try to "outplay" you and he will have no escapes and he will die.

An experienced Yasuo will use his windwall at the perfect time, dash to just the right amount of minions, and wait for you to push up to use his ulti to keep you in play followed up by the CC from his JG.

His kit is not forgiving, it is what people call a ...say it with me... "Skillcap".

When a Lee outplays you, everyone is like wow cool, I was stupid and he was smart. But when a yasuo outplays you, everyone is like, "He must be broken."

Not a good mentality to have.

... I'm not saying he doesn't have a high skillcap. I have an easier time playing Nidalee, Lee Sin, and Riven than Yasuo. My problem is that he can literally be the most forgiving champion in the game right now because of how his kit works with fervor and tank builds. It's not just that builds are op, it's that the builds are op because of how his kit utilizes the builds.

at risk of being a "yasuo hater":

are you saying, because yasuo's kit is complex, it means the champion as a whole deserves to be more powerful, when correctly used, than simpler champions?

Here's some major fun'facts. -Yasuo's dash has a low enough CD to where he can cast it almost immediately after the next one so it ain't that easy for him to get ruined outside of a target or positional CC stun since he usually can easily get out of plenty of 'skill shot' based CC thanks to minion blocking at times. Literally the few times i ever manage to get a Yasuo CC'd was due to target based stuns like Annie's because usually before i get in range, most yasuos can just quickly dash away from it.

-Pretty much ANYONE can mis'time use an ability and Yasuo ain't no exception to that, except he is forgiven alot easier by having a passive 1 second 'flow barrier' to help him out, a wind wall to negate projectile damage and effectively a 'infinite' gap closer dasher to describe it. Plus once again, he has no resource bar to make him really fk up with wasting the resource.

-Even when a jungler like Volibear manages to grab and 'fling' him over his shoulders, Yasuo can simply dash thru the jungler itself and gain enough distance usually to make a epic escape like he wasn't just hit by a displacement CC at all. Especially if the jungler already wasted his mobility ability and his 'CC' ability that normally is enough to secure a champion kill.

-UNLESS IT HAS BEEN PATCHED ALREADY! THERE IS A INTERESTING BUG FOR WHEN YASUO USES HIS ULTIMATE ON A KNOCKED UP TARGET UNDER A TURRET! Namely he would be 'outside' of the turret range when he uses the ultimate, even though the target is clearly inside the ultimate, though the video that explained this is currently 6 months ago, it can still be considered pretty bullshit, check it out if you want.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ1ai49NBqY

The critical difference for Lee is he has to literally use his entire kit and even set up a ward to usually escape if he wants to pull off a tower dive kill on a weak target. Plus he is a 'energy resource champion' so he is stuck to not only CDs but also a energy resource bar and actually having to get his small skill shot mark to even start the dive to hit, which could be difficult if you have no vision on the enemy champion except the one second you may of saw them when they were running away from the enemy laner and likely don't know about if any minions could be in the way to cause a problem with catching that enemy champion at all.

Not to mention once again "HE HAS TO USE HIS ENTIRE KIT BASICALLY", meaning he has to take the time to press all the buttons in the right order which likely gives a 1 to 2 second reaction window for the dived on enemy champion to quickly flash away, pop a shield or proc some other CC based move to get the distance long enough or even screw the Lee over and Lee gets heavily damaged and one last shot to kill him as he quickly uses his ward jump escape and still ends up dying in the end. None of Lee'sins abilities really 'CC you' besides his knock back on his 'ultimate'(which means long cool down) so Lee can't lock you down like Yasuo can with his Q tornado knock up and R 'extended suppression' while he chunks your hp.

[slayer-jinx-unamused]

To give a nice comparison, Lee'sin is the AD version of Le'blancs current kit in so many ways(too lazy atm to check release dates to 'correct' myself). Both champions rely on diving on top of the target to blast the champion good or not even manage to do that much damage at all if they don't.

I consider a build path that compensates for a weakness to be something akin to Ezreal's standard Manamune+Iceborn gauntlet to turn him into this slightly tankie marksmen who can slow his targets long enough to give him plenty of kiting potential. With Yasuo even before the tank build came into existence, he was always this constant lane bully using the Statikk Shiv+Infinity edge combo and then having that last enough for sometimes him to trade out shiv for Phantom dancer and pick up items like ghost blade to just go into a massacre kill spree like a Katarina who has URF level CDR.

The point is YASUO never really had a point where he had a major down time point since he constantly had so many build paths with crit items alone he could exploit the hell out of such as when Tri-force still had Critical on it, he could use things like Rapid fire hand'cannon, Statikk Shiv, Phantom dancer, Infinity edge, hell even Essence Reaver for one thing and only need to have a combination of 2 of those items to effectively achieve auto crit status and still have 4 slots unlike how 'standard' marksmen or other Crit champions required usually 4 crit items to even achieve auto crit potential.

A build path on top of that should also have weaknesses to what it brings, such as going a damage build should make the champion 'squishier', while a tank build should make a champion not 'hit hard'. While trying to combination mix both of them will make the champion have some slight squish and lacking in damage especially in late game team fights, a build path should NEVER make a champion on a omni'potent tier level where they could easily win in a 1vs2 (or even 1vs3 or 1vs4 for that matter) fight without even losing half of their hp in the fight, only unless he is seriously over'fed and the enemies he wiped the floor with are moderately or under fed.

Plus Riot should of really been paying attention when they went so long with just doing bug fixes on Yasuo for basically Season 5, 6 and likely what was a bit or even half of Season 4 itself. If they paid attention to what each bug fix would bring to Yasuo, then it should of been obvious he would be getting much stronger and he should have some stat pull backs or values toned down to compensate for such a gradual but eventually huge spike, if they don't show initative to even if its just temporary to nerf a champion, then they basically might as well ignore what could happen and if it is too strong on the nerf they can partially refund it back in another patch.

Plus even with this 'Tank Yasuo build' he still hasn't seen any changes even though its been a few patches since it came out, meaning its more of a wonder if Riot plans to even do the so called 'Incoming Yasuo nerf' especially before 'Worlds start' and if they don't then they can enjoy matches being dreaded upon when we might get a few people to rage fest because of wanting Yasuo and the enemy team grabbed him and the match is then ruined because Yasuo becomes too much of a overwhelming force because he was left completely uncheck to avoid 'ruining some pro players by doing 'last minute changes to champions currently in the spotlight.'' Which is bull fudge to me for people going into one champion or one role only play styles and making no attemptto gain masterful experience in multiple champions and multiple lanes so they know how each of them operates and how each of them need to be worked to succeed.

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Plus even before this Tank Yasuo shenigans been going out, i've always basically dread a match when i go and play regular 5vs5 or 3vs3 matches and then i hit my forehead on my desk soon as i see the sight of Yasuo on the enemy team (especially the PROJECT one which usually felt like a clear sign it was some edgelord super tryhard who will pretty much get a first blood in 5 minutes or less even if he dies in the process to do so), The only few times i was happy a Yasuo was even present was in URF mode since he gets horribly ruined by god tier champions in URF mode due to the insane 80% CDR and mana cost being lifted too so it just turns into shotgun spamming spree to kill your opponent so you end up with a clown fiesta of dodging and sometimes a person dying within the first 3 minutes of the match instead.
