Smite's not just for Junglers, anymore.

Look at everything Smite now brings to the table for a champion. Remembering that Smite is very spammable, the possibilities of what any champion can do with it (now that there are so many upgrades it gets from the machete item tree) is rather enticing. Early-mid game, it would help a ton with leashing (and getting the Smite buff in the process), be something to finish off a difficult creep, or maybe even have a bigger chance at stealing the enemy buff if invading. By late game, when you have finished building the machete item tree and have given it the enchantment, it turns Smite into a very spammable version of Exhaust/Ignite while still keeping in mind that you can get lots of awesome buffs from using it on Jungle creeps.

Long story short, it would be risk-reward choice that makes late game very rewarding for those who were able to keep up with an enemy team that consists of "normal" summoner spells.

It's actually a good idea to break away from Ignite-Flash combo and use Smite when playing ADC, when your support has Heal-Flash or Heal-Exhaust even.

Nice.

Whenever i see a non jungler take smite in this preseason i just hope they lose lane hard. Why take a summoner spell that you have to spend 750 gold to make useful? If the lanes are even close in skill lever the person with smite should be getting crushed if they're spending money on a jungle item instead of useful things.

Sad thing is, i've seen top lane nunu rekt face. So dumb lol

you sir, need to lighten up, and embrace the world of new things.

Anyway, besides: something like tele-smite teemo is already hilarious, now its just better.

I'd be less salty about a ghost revive support hec than someone taking smite to lane. I don't care if people try new things, it bothers me when people make choices that make no sense just based off the numbers involved.

I agree - its one thing to actually have an idea that might work - its another to to go "lol, look what im doing"

ADC can use the 750 to build the AD Jungler weapon which grants Smite cast on champions. It's not the best of weapons but it has it perks, and hence, its possibilities.

League is evolving and I like it to a certain extent.

I noticed you were down-voted for sharing your opinion. I have attempted to rectify your situation.

Dont forget about plays such as....

Ahri mid. She uses summoner 11 to blast the only creep standing between her and her enemy, instantly following up with charm.

Those actually look pretty cool. But in a sense she can already do this, only change would be that now she'd have a use for smite outside of those cases.

I think there is there is really only 1 machete upgrade that is maybe as good as buying non-machete gear when you exclude the smite. And that is only by comboing it with other items on an AS bruiser with sticking power.

You wouldn't want to buy a worthless machete to start with if you weren't jungling, the first upgrade won't give you anything but something to make your smite non-worthless. The smite early on might be used to grab a buff from red or blue or whatever but you still run the risk of getting ganked and giving the buffs to your opponent in lane.

Good point.

That's why I said it's a risk-reward option that pays off in LATE game. You don't buy the machete item early. You by what you normally get, then you get the machete item with it's enchantment later on when you've already got the essential items for your champ. It's all about playing safe while in lane. Smart, good players know how to play safe. Dumb, bad players feed a buff to a Jungler.

Isn't this what normals is for?

Trying wonky new stuff for the fun of it?

People really need to lighten up a bit.

My question : what does the jungle items bring to a non jungler. If there is a good answer to this, I call it very potentially valid! (Followed by jungler item nerfs/change)

People can start abusing it so hard... I posted a discussion about the "5 man Smite" thingy that starts to appear from game to game... and nobody took me seriously or just proceed to tell me that wasn't even a real danger... :/
