Riot is doing something beatiful (right under our noses!)

So recently, Riot reworked some champions..Aatrox Irelia XinZhao

Notice something common between all 3 of these champs? They all are (or somewhat were) auto attack champions.

Yes i know, they are still pretty much AA champs, but think of it, they added a skill shot to xins kit, they added less AA and more team fight with irelia, and now with aatrox, they are completely removing his AA mechanic. This is good, they are changing champs to be more ability based instead of just boring autos (I know adcs still have this, but whatl can we do? they are adc, its all they have).

Xin was probbaly the experiment of removing brainless right click and button spam from a champs kit, sure they didnt change much but they did make him use more skill!

After Xin, they moved to Irelia with her new Q, W, E and R all being less based around auto attacking and more based on outplay and skill :D

now aatrox is becoming a completly different champion who uses abilities in a fight, basically think of Irelia being the successor of Xins rework and Aatrox being the successor of Irelias rework! :D

All I can say is thank you Riot, keep removing AA from the game! Cough Tryndamere MasterYi Trundle cough oh excuse me, haha! but you have done good so far on removing AA from the game! Keep going rito!! (srsly tho plz rework tryndamere at the very least.. maybe trundle too.. maybe some others as well..)

Who is next i wonder...

i don't think they need to remove AA from the game.. they just need to provide available skill curves elsewhere in the game that isn't solely based on champion skills. It's just kind of hard to do that with a game because it requires changing major functionalities of the game design itself, rather than just reworking a design of a particular champion....which any braindead idiot can do(like me).

They actually added more autoattack DPS to Irelia. Look at her new passive.

Xin always relied mostly on his Q for damage and he still does.

These champs do have less auto-attack reliance in their kits, yes, but it is not entirely removed. Auto-Attacks make up for the gist of the Fighters (And the Juggernaut and Diver subclasses) damage. After all, how many are granted AA-speed boosts in one form or another? A lot.

Now each one has unique passives (Whether looking at Juggernauts OR Divers) whether those be their main passives, or passives from abilities that grant those AA-speed boosts (Or in some cases, extra AD, or Armor-Pen, or what have you), but Auto-Attacks are still very much a part of all 3 of the champs you mention, as well as the rest of the Fighter class and subclasses. (New Irelia procs her passive VIA an auto-attack or by using an ability on a champion, for example. XinZhao is granted his old AA-Speed bonus upon using his E)

Conqueror, Press the Attack, Grasp of the Undying and other Keystone Runes are procced via Auto-attacks (Though these are clearly not exclusive to Fighters in use).

Overall, AA's do make up a large amount of the DPS that Fighters can provide (Less so than Marksmen, but we don't need to get into that), and while I'm glad to see you're happy with these changes in making Fighters less AA-reliant, I don't think we'll ever get one that doesn't use AA's in some shape or form.
