LP System Punishes Support Mains/Players with Passive Style

I was Silver 1 last season. I'm not very good and I know that because I manage high elo teams. But I'm a lot better than the people I'm currently playing with. After reset I got placed Bronze 1. No big deal, whatever. I'll just grind right? But it just so happens that I'm a passive support main. I heal people, speed people up, exhaust people. Keep people alive so they can keep doing their damage. And I am pretty good at that.

But that doesn't win games in Bronze. I went from Bronze 1 to Bronze 4 in a single losing streak because even after carrying a mediocre adc through lane phase with a crushing lead, the entire rest of the team goes toxic and gives up pick after pick because someone gave up first blood. My adc goes 9-1 in lane phase, comes out like 10-12 end of game. I've gotten coaching, picked up more playmaking/high-damage supports, but it is literally a 50/50 chance of getting a half decent team that can actually win a game without ripping each others heads off. I can't even duo with my old friends from last season because they are playmakers that made it back into gold.

I know other elos are like this too, but for a former high silver passive support, bronze is literally horrible. This system punishes safe or passive players (especially support mains, whose job is to help others carry the game) and promotes toxic high risk play. Particularly in the lower elos.

TL;DR: Why not consider making the LP system based on individual performance rather than W-L? It is solo q, why should your ranking be determined by everything your team does? I understand its a team game, but I cant even communicate outside of pings and text chat that requires me to stop playing and type.

Rito Pls Consider making some quality of life changes for those of us not having fun because our style doesnt work in a new elo.

the promotion system really encourages stompers more than those who simply statistically win more games on average playing roles/champions which affect games less than carries and assassins, it's pretty obvious from how it works. statistically 3 or 5 games is a too short span if you don't make a huge impact every game i.e. if you are not a stomper

Its not the LP system that is punishing your for playing passive champs, its the game itself. Doesn't matter if you are playing ranked or normals. Low elo is about going ALL IN they don't know when to stop lol.

Because it is a team game and Riot wants you to win or lose as a team. Though, it is more so that people at your elo don't know how to play with a passive support.

oh man. im so understand you. I'm a third year playing at support. First year - bronze, second - silver, now im in gold. I created in all forums new threads about improvement of the system and turn it into a real SOLO RANKED. nothing helps..

now ranked for ordinary people is - 50% Win rating. This means every second game is a loser. if you win 5 games in a row, in the future they will lose

I have great respect Riot (seriously) but ranked for ordinary people is broken (( with each patch I read everything carefully and each time I hope find the words: "we want to improve ranked system". and create the same theme as it is now about Jungle.

but I'm not so stupid as others who constantly ask something like that. if I will be on the site of Riot Games, I would be very afraid of losing "important players" and would do everything to ensure that they do not go away. ranked system change - a serious problem, and Riot Games will not go for this

Can you play other positions? Champs that can hard carry games? I wasn't in bronze, but I was put in silver 5 after the reset and I'm plat 4 currently. You can get out

thanks guys for all the input. and i have played aggressive supports. even odd ones (such as malphite) but still only 50% win ratio. 60% on sona though, because burst dmg is strong plus heals plus speed plus teamfight saving ult. Annie is a miss with me, and Karma's high burst dmg hasnt been working either, even though im very good at karma support now lol. supports like nami and janna are my favorite to play, but there is no place for them in bronze solo q. its all about the Zed, Graves, Akali, Kat-- ie anything that can 1v5

I know man, i manage diamond players. I get that its a team game. i really do. but even if i can get my lane ahead, roam mid and help out, i cant pull four people together. in this elo, people literally have zero respect for each other (im sure thats not just here) and i think passive players like myself wouldnt be so punished by the system if it worked based on kda or something like that. maybe kda in respect to w/l. idk, either way, we win or lose as a team. but there is no team in bronze. people literally just want to argue. its gotten to the point i dont even want to play anymore.

im honestly thinking this is what causes elo boosting to be such a widespread issue. what if your lp loss/gain was mitigated by kda?
