I remember when it was common for matches to be quite long and it wasn't really that enjoyable to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it was far better than what he had this season where one piece of shit feeder could lose you the game in like 10 minutes. But the frustrating thing about super long games is that, they eventually reached a point where it didn't matter how well one team performed over the other. The match was decided by one single team fight and being fed stops mattering when everyone is full build. So if you did super well, got kills, dragons, towers and it looked like a sure win for your team, if they manage to stall out till very late game, your good performance meant nothing essentially as it could all be thrown away in a single team fight, which even more frustratingly, was more about luck that skill. It didn't matter which team was better, one tiny mistake could mean gg.
The best state this game could be in would be one where some kind of balance were found. Certainly not what we had most of season 8 but also not a meta of super long games. But if the choice were between what we had most of season 8 and super long games, I'd take the super long games. I agree with you that this shit snowball meta we have now is no fun at all.
