Locking in when selecting champion in ranked

I'm a veteran player, barely played any of the new mode for ranked. But, I do really like except one thing. If i pick a champion and don't lock in, I get a the LP reduction or a loss on my series. This makes no sense to force a player to lock in before the time is up. Why not just auto-lock the champion they picked at the end of the timer? Is this some way to prevent afk, or leavers? Personally, i think it's a poor choice and should be fixed. No one should get punished for picking a champion they were planning to and not "locking in" as it.

If any of you agree with me or think it's annoying as well, please + this. We shouldn't just have to accept it for what it is. If you are a forum troll, then please provide some constructive criticism or you will be ignored.

i disagree with you. you should be paying attention... in fact unless something unexpected has happened such as your champ got banned, it shouln't take you more than 3 seconds to lock in once its your turn.. if you feel like your a person who wants to waste everyone time and go afk and so we have to watch the countdown timer.. then i feel you deserve to lose the RP for being a jerk.

Thanks forum troll, nothing constructive and to top it off. You attempt to act like you know me and insult me. I'm sorry that you get so upset over people waiting out the timer. That's 10 seconds of your life, when you spend 20+ minutes in the game.... wow. You're the jerk. It's not about paying attention, it's about logic. Which you don't possess.
