Sion : Well rounded, balanced top laner, can go for tank or bruiser, and is pretty easy to pick up.

Trundle : Good 1v1, good splitpush, and pretty tanky top laner.

Karma : A nice mid pick, if you go AP, you deal a massive amount of up-front burst, as well as having good shields. You can also build tank and go top, its works, but its more of a cheese pick.

AurelionSol / Azir : Both of these champions are pretty good picks for midlane, but require an higher level of mastery to be really good at. If you want to put in the time and effort, you can carry games with them.

Heimerdinger : A personal favorite, what Donger lacks in mobility, he makes up for with siege and poke. Plus, your turrets, once you figure it out, can be used to block a variety of skillshots.

Do not immediately jump into Ranked.

You will regret the decision.

At minimum, I would take a few months to practice champions and roles in normal games and gain experience.

If it helps, my preferred champion pool is: Top: Yorick Sion Nautilus Maokai Poppy Mid: Xerath Lux Ahri Orianna Viktor

This is always hard to say. Some people are just better with some champs then others. It all depends on your play style. My friends as well as me all play different champs a lot. But there are just some champs that are played a lot that seem easy but I or my friends just suckeep with. It just comes down to play style. Pick a free rotation chap and see if you like the play. Best way to figure out before you pay.

Honestly don't take the advice of others on this. You need to play around and find what suits you the best. I personally have an odd champ pool but it works for me so I stick with it.
