Then when SHOULD we build crit items?

just wanted to start a possible discussion on what needs to happen to these items to be better? maybe have a crit starting item? early in the game you either need damage or attack speed on the item you have for crit as a marksman so what about losing lanes depending a bit more on a crit to decide weather or not they can trade or all in? should we have cheaper items build faster and have less crit scaling on each item?item 1083 item 1055

So, the problem with having a crit starting item, is that it leads to lane trades becoming heavily dependent on RNG: One of the complaints against Tryndamere is how, if he gets a random crit in a trade, you're practically forced to back or risk him getting another.

And frankly, if you're asking to make crit a bit more of a come-back mechanic, I don't think either side would be too happy about "Whether (I/My opponent) gets back into the game is decided wholly on if a crit happens, and not really to any skill on either of our parts."

what about instead of a crit item just reduce the percent on 2nd tier items item 3086 item 3031 item 3508 item 1018 item 3046 that way youre not getting alot of crit

Honestly, it's arguably Healthier to have more crit than a little: If you have a 50% chance, you can reasonably assume that roughly every other hit will crit, and you and your opponent can play accordingly. But having only, say, 10% crit chance, you might as well roll a dice as to whether you get one or not. And people generally want to avoid as much RNG as possible when it comes to competitive games.

At the very least, with how crit is currently implemented (Riot has talked about changing things in the future) implementing a crit starting item wouldn't do much good for anyone involved.

but what if you didnt scale to 100% crit? its a critical wound anyways its not like thats something you can do 100% of the time in a fight

item 1051 ?

does not give damage that you can rely on thats why nobody builds it

like an item that stacks up to give crit chance that doesnt have a max so you can still get 100% crit?
