Game is unplayable as an E-sport without having team voice chat

I have a friend who is very into this game and I would also like to get into this game heavily as well. However, not having team voice chat is a deal-breaker in any serious E-sport. I play overwatch mainly; the use of mics to communicate is essential. In the higher ranks, it is basically throwing if you do not at least listen to the rest of the team to coordinate hero swaps for countering the enemy, ultimate abilities, and spotting for enemy locations/flanks, etc... Please make this a serious E-sport by adding team voice chat with the ability to mute/report players if they are being toxic just like in overwatch. I would really like to join in this game and buy many heroes, but until team voice chat is implemented I cannot play a sub-par game.

EDIT: This post is about high-level gaming where every second counts and looking away from your screen could mean a loss for your team. This post does not apply to lower tiers in the same way that balance issues don't really matter in lower tiers.

The problem with unlimited, public voice chat is that randos have; Awful mics Children Background noise Are probably children Toxic personalities Nothing good to say Mouth breather qaulities And most importantly, you cant moderate them.

Thats the biggest issue. You cant moderate them. Overwatch - a buy to play game - can moderate them by taking voice com abuse reports seriously and banning their blizzard account if the problem persists.

Riot is a free to play company, they cant punish you more than a ban and even then they require evidence a bot can view.

Yeah, the ability to use pings and text make the game unplayable

You have voice chat where its allowed....... The game doesnt require it, doesnt need it at all tbh, although it does help.. but no. They will never add public voice chat at all. its not sub par, and u can just use discord or something its not hard.

You aren’t playing an e-sport. If you want to pretend you are, then play as a group of 5, and then the game provides voice chat for you.

i'm all with you for voice chat because I come from Counter strike (been global elite since ranked came out in csgo) where you can't play the game at a high level without voice. Unfortunately as you can see from all the down votes you are getting it is not accepted here like it is in the other games. This community has the least amount of ambition of any community I have ever been a part of to actually improve. They have never had voice comms in the game so they have no idea how the community will even react to it. All anyone ever says it will be bad and/or you don't need it with pings. Yet the pros constantly use voice comms in every game. This community reminds me of a little kid who you are having try new food for the first time and before they even taste it, they say they don't like it.

often time i feel i lost a game, and that could have been prevented if i could communicate my intentions to my teamates. for example, my jungler is a red kayn and he is ganking my laner, a ryze, and i want him to save w so ryze gets interrupted while using ult to escape to safety, so i type SAVE W in chat, but he uses his w to start the gank, and ends up with ryze teleporting away, but if i had comms that is a free kill and kayn plays that perfectly

There are many other games out there that take team communication seriously. I would just prefer if this one did because of its current standing as an E-sport.

I'm in full support for voice comms and would really love it, especially playing in Master+ solo queue, it really would help.

The only drawback is that reporting someone for anything said on Voice Comms would be quite challenging.

I'm willing to wager a bet that sampling a hypothetical thousand games in every division in ranked, team A (voice-comms) vs. team B (no voice-comms), the win-rate would be much higher on Team A with voice-comms.

If everyone wanted voice chat as bad as you, there would be no problem getting people to join you in a Discord server. Most games with competitive play uses Discord instead of the in-game chat anyway. Third-party services are just superior.
