Teaching laners how to engage for good ganks

So with the triple JG nerfs (camp exp, camp gold and duo lane exp which is less exp while ganking also) the engages are way more important if we want to have a successful gank. Even with solo lanes being out of control op right now we can still gank a solo lane as long as they don't have 3-5 kills the JG can come in and you can both kill the solo laner. With Jg being nerfed into the ground he will die solo to the solo laner and if the solo laner has 3-5 kills then you both will die during the gank usually.

The trick is to engage at the right time; to often when I ping that I am coming for a gank the laner either back as soon as I engage = me dead or engages 10 seconds before I go in and dies as I engage leaving me to fight 1v1 and I die also or goes in before I get there and dies forcing me to leave because I will die solo to the op solo laners which cost me ALOT in the game because i could of been farming or ganking another lane. With no catch up exp a single mistake puts the JG very far behind the rest of the game.

This also is important for duel lanes watching where your jg is if he is pinging while he is coming it gives you plenty of time to prepare and stay alive while he is on the way. Make sure as he comes in you are in position to engage the same time he does.

This will help you win more games because the ganks are more for you than the JG because you get free waves and a lead of your enemy laners which can lead to you snowballing and winning the game. If the engages are horrible its best for the jg to just farm and counter jg/counter gank.

EDIT: I forgot to add the laner engaging before you get there and scaring the enemy off as well...

  1. Make sure your jungler has double buffs
  2. Let your jungler die to your lane opponent
  3. Kill lane opponent and take double buffs for yourself
  4. Snowball and carry team to victory

This thing about optimal gank timing can be tough, i mean say that you are looking to gank toplane early.

Enemy side is a Darius and he has a fat minion wave coming in with him, on your side you have an Irelia, Darius and his double or triple minion wave is clearing one of yours close to the river bush, what happens if you both go in here?

It could work out, but you could also die, both of you because he managed to stall long enough in the middle of his minions, ensuring that the lane is well and truly past any hope of saving and that the Darius will be a monster from then on.

I see way too many overeager junglers wanting to pull early ganks into large minion waves only to get eaten alive by them :(

Now all we need is a guide to tell junglers how to engage for good ganks because most Junglers I have had as a Toplane main will just come on my lvl 1 (I always let enemy push under my tower for lane control) and while the enemy Toplaner is lvl 2 they will force gank from River no matter what (and proceed to spam ping me because I can't do anything yet)

to often when I ping that I am coming for a gank the laner either back as soon as I engage = me dead

Out of personal experience, 9/10 times this happens it is the jungler ignoring back pings because "they know better"

My biggest problem Is when my ally does a complete 180 of their lane behavior and the enemy backs off. Seriously, no one is going to believe that you're suddenly going all in for NO reason after you've been playing safe for so long.

this turned me off from playing jungle laners dont know how to bait the fight I just assumed everyone should know because i do as a low elo top main. you know the lane with all the 'unskilled' champions.

What I hate is when I am in a bad match up in the top lane and I am still level 1 with no way to do any damage vs a Darius. My jungler will ignore the fact that there are about 30 enemy minions about to crash. If you don't have the power to 1v1 Darius, You aren't going to have the power to 1v1 him with 30 enemy minions hitting you. Especially if your laner is a level 1 Nasus who can only auto attack for 10 damage every 18 seconds.

Happens wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too often and they never listen to the spam pings to NOT gank.
