State of Ryze

I played a lot of old Ryze. This new Ryze's early game damage is impossible to fight against and you cant shove him into tower because his wave clear, even early, is damn good. I thought Ryze was supposed to be a lategame monster that requires skill and coordination. This new Ryze feels like it takes less skill than previous, and he is definitely stronger at all stages of the game. Also, I have no idea what the most effective counter is, aside from dodging his Qs.
