Haven't you heard? Change is good, why else would Riot constantly be doing shit that makes no sense EVERY SINGLE PATCH?
The time of logic is over, never get complacent because chances are what you love if going to be changed sooner than you can even think.

You said after a year though. That's a lot of time. For a game to stay fresh and interesting things have to be changed and updated. Play some Sona, her skins are still the same!
I mean in ten years if the game plays like Battlerite/bloodline champions, but is still called "league of legends". I don't see why people can complain. It's the same game. It's not like it's very different than it was before the pre-season/mid-season/LCS patch.

Riot and people need to learn how evolution works and how culling the alternative branches of your evolutionary development is just asking to be killed by an environmental change. E.g. a new genre appearing that takes over the remaining portion of the market that you have, because you left a hole where you once were, but aren't design on a fundamental level to support the niche that you now occupy like how the new genre works.

I understand your position, but the game is growing, healthy and should be evolving over a years time
