How do I deal with Mordekaiser?

Frozted·9/7/2015, 3:49:26 AM·4 votes·1,494 views

I'm clueless. Mordekaiser is so strong as a double botlane with Relic. He has trinity force and he can 100% any adc at mid game. If we burn a bunch of resources in shutting him down, we lose top side control and enemy jungler can make life a living hell. Any tips appreciated.

Ive found good laners that can out duel him early are ok. He can still beat you, or fight you solo later, but getting ahead is good so that you can team fight against him

As long as he doesnt get fed early game, he will be far too weak mid/late to properly reach a relevant target to land this triple Q.

In an equal skill matchup, you just wont win that lane. The only way to beat a bot lane with mord in it is to gank him alot so he is useless. Otherwise, he is just going to gradually win that lane.

You don't. Hes way too tanky, is paired with a tanky support, they both have relics and pots, the CC from the support and speed up from his W just makes him face roll almost every time in the bot lane. Broken AF if you ask me. Ban his ass in champ select or suffer the consequences.

Do you play adc if yes. Your screwed Do you play support if yes. Pick a lockdown at range champ and gg

Big Lincoln9/7/2015, 4:15:37 AM1 votes

run DIRECTLY into melee range as soon as you can

if you die sooner you'll respawn sooner

hope this helps, gg

Just ban him. In all the matches I got against him I lost.

I played against a Morde Naut earlier as Caitlyn with Morg support. I definitely say Caitlyn is a great pick, and a support to keep her safe, like Janna or Morgana. Caitlyn pokes through his shield, and pokes him more than he can sustain. Morg/Janna keep the engage supports at bay while she has a field day.

Urgot. Land E and then Q thrice. Wait for cd and repeat. Use W every once in awhile either to chase or to ward off some damage that Mordekaiser's support tries to zone you with.

  1. Mordekaiser is the equivalent of a lane bully. Of course he's strong in a double melee bot lane and of course he's going to outduel most ADCs most stages of the game, that's just how he functions.
  2. Who cares if you lose top lane pressure. Unless your top laner picked some yolo top that requires babysitting until the late game, in which case fuck them in particular, losing top lane pressure is not a problem. It doesn't transition into multiple more objectives (opens up Dragon control+gives ADC more reason to roam, the class best at sieging towers) and most good top laners don't need to win lane to win game (CC/Utility Tanks op).
  3. If the enemy Jungler is making your life a living hell and your own Jungler isn't doing anything to counter the opponent's options, your Jungler's plainly just inferior to theirs and you're at a disadvantage anyway.

All this said, the answer to your thread is time. Don't get caught by Mordekaiser's Support and just focus on outscaling Mordekaiser. If you've ever played top lane long enough, you know that the answer to beating a lane bully is not to directly fight them. Take this same logic to bot lane. Mordekaiser will win all ins but he doesn't have CC to chain with his support, he doesn't have reengage potential, and he doesn't have range. Any ADC that excels in these particular areas can compete and provide more to the team by later stages of the game.

ADC's I found work against him Caitlyn Ashe Kalista Tristana VarusUrgot Jinx any ADC's that can abuse their high range or punish Morde for his positioning and his lack of mobility

Supports I found that work against him Alistar Blitzcrank Braum Janna Leona Lulu Morgana Nami Thresh VeigarTahmKenchAnnieNautilus Trundle Not even joking Trundle support is really strong maybe even the number 1 counter to Morde ADC. Any support that can punish Morde for having no mobility or his positioning. All of these supports are really strong at locking him down or getting him picked off for your team.

Good counters are lane bullies or people who can kite him. Try to pick strong early game ADCs, and if you're the Support pick hard CC or disengage.

Caitlyn is good due to her natural high range, nets can make it impossible for Morde to reach you, and she's well known for her traps being abusive against melee champions. Her traps make or break a good Caitlyn, especially against Morde.

MissFortune her strong, low cooldown poke is good since Morde is vulnerable to poke, but it also has the same range as Caitlyn's auto attacks so it can be used for zoning. One thing to keep in mind is that Miss Fortune can all-in very easily unlike Caitlyn, Caitlyn relies solely on poke but Miss Fortune doesn't, so if you're ever in a situation where you're being all-in'ed by Morde, don't run away because you might be able to win especially with Miss Fortune's absurdly high early game damage.

Jinx is great not because of her range or anything, but because of her traps. Her traps are easy to use and waiting for the snare to weare off, hitting Morde with your Zap, and continuously bombarding him with auto attacks seems effective.

Graves Graves got nerfed hard but he's still great in a lot of matchups like against Morde. Using his Smoke Cannister will ruin Morde and you can reposition around him with your dash. Try to zone Morde off with your poking abilities and since Graves is fairly tanky with high base damage, he can take a few hits and afford to throw some back.

Janna her disengage/peeing abilities are so good against Morde, don't use her Tornado until he's up and close to your ADC and try to save her slow for if he's running away or still trying to engage on your ADC, that way he doesn't immediately back off and flee. Her shield also can be an issue since Morde relies on burst.

Alistar just headbutt him away. that's pretty much all there is to it really.

Leona can be risky, but with a good ADC your ability to lock him down and Leona's shield lets her be annoying. Morde might try to blow up you as Leona, so be careful.

Janna Alistar as enemy supports make Mordekaiser's life a living hell. Esp if paired with a long range adc that can consistently keep getting their cs while being bullied, like Cait, Ez, ETC.
