The state of Elise

As of this meta, the league of tanks, Elise haven't seen much game plays. To be honest, I haven't seen an Elise in a long while. Regardless, the state of Elise is very delicate in my opinion simply because playing her without any skill is very unforgiving especially with season 5 jungle. Her scaling is very ambiguous in my opinion simply because you either going to get out scaled by your opponent, or you might be building her wrong. Nonetheless, I'd like some feedbacks on how to successfully play Elise. Now before we dive into Pro tips & tricks, I'd like to mention I played Elise heavily during season 4 as she is one of my favorite jungler then, and I have attempted her in early season 5. However, I am admitting and acknowledging that I do not know how to approach playing this beautiful champion, as such, please do provide inputs on how she can be played. Ultimately, is Elise viable?

I really hope this stays relevant. Maybe I just adore Elise too much x.x

I feel like Elise needs a soft rework, something similar to what Nidalee received. All three transforming champions Elise Jayce Nidalee function largely the same way: poke and harass from range, then close in to finish off the target. Now, there's nothing wrong with this style, but if we have three different transforming champions it's kind of a waste to have them all play the same way.

Personally I think an interesting way to make Elise a little more unique is to play up the idea of a spider's nest. She lures victims into her home territory and then destroys them. Rather than poke from range and then close in melee, use ranged form to prepare for the enemy closing on her, then switch to melee to devour them.

I seconded this I like elise as a champ. Her kit could melt tanks in the meta right now so why is she not seen much.

I played elise recently and she has fallen off so hard with all the new champs in the game and item changes that she could possible go back to her pre-nerf state and be fine.

But anyways. Her E needs to be 100 again (75 is just way too tiny) and get a 10% speed increase.

Her W in human should slow (maybe 10/12/14/16/18/20%) so she can catch people without using her rappel. Her Q mana costs need to go down (60/65/70/75/80). W cost needs to go down (60/65/70/75/80).

Her Q should scale 8/8.5/9/9.5/10% on both forms. She would be relatively balanced and she could probably see some play again.

Her spiderlings during the healing active should start at 6 hp per hit.

On ranking up her ult her spiders should get a 5/10/15% passive AS boost.

Not very much in terms of damage, but gives her sticking potential and a little more reliability.

I've seen her played jungle and support, with support being... meh. Jungle was also meh, but could at least perform their role. Her poke isn't impressive, she isn't tanky, her only notable moves are her stun and her execute. Her AP scaling is awful, and even her gap-closer/escape with Rappel is crippled by only working on enemies and taking a full second to play the animations. She's not a terrible champ, there are just better options for any role she could fill.

Well recently I love to play Mid-AP-Elise. :P Pretty risky - but fun2play (not recommended for SoloQ but i guess she´s close to viable xD)

I always liked Elise as a Laner (TOP) alot more than as a Jungler - but well Rito didnt want her there. q.q

Well for starters she's actually listed as a Mage, who can also be a Fighter, so she really doesn't belong with the Tank meta in general. She is usually played as a Tank yes, but has a kit that's more of an Assassin... so overall they need to do work on her to where she has an identity rather then an identity crisis.

Elise can be dangerous, but she seems like a snowball or lose champion. And lately I feel like Nidalee jungle outclasses Elise while providing most of the same strengths. I used to have faith Elise could bounce back but idk, is she is lacking something?

play her full ap, i have found some pretty good success with this. she can shred tanks and 1 shot carries.

as an idea for a build

item 3158 item 3724 item 3001 item 3027 item 3285 item 3089 /item 3157 (but then you aren't purple build, so it's sad) //item 3512 (to keep my purple build dream in tact)

to add a little more, this makes it so you can easily fend off oppressive junglers / etc mid game. Elise is already very strong in the early game and this is where she excels. eventually in end game, with this build, you can 1 shot carries and melt tanks. the 40% CDR also lets you easily peel for your team with a ton of stuns and Q's

I think she will get more play when the new abysal is released. http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/05/red-post-collection-ekko-discussion_14.html#5 With cinderhulk's new "Now does +100% damage to jungle monster." So I think she will be hitting the game hard. With abysal doing the Magic resit shred and the aoe dmg. That only means more dmg from abysal and sunfire/cinderhulk. Elise "Theres nothing to fear." item 3709 item 3110 item 3001 Don't worry I bite hard.

I think the biggest flaw with Elise is how vulnerable how spiderlings are with all the AoE champions. What I'm trying to say is that a Sion can activates his W and her spiderlings will be almost dead, and of course he would always either have a sunfire or a cinderhulk to finish the spiderlings. In retrospect, they don't stay on the field. Her strength is undoubtedly skirmish potentials, but there are none if a tank Elise can't be a threat in fight. Nunu's threat can be in bloodboil or absolute zero while Elise's threat is "land cocoon or be absolutely zero damage". That's a big big set back for Elise. In this meta we see SO many AoE and with item 3285 , Ahri 's Q literally wipes them off the map. So if you build full tank Elise, you're a walking cocoon machine with close to no sustain. In that scenario.. why not just play Warwick instead? Yes there are a lot of diversity in this meta, but it is not the same case for jungle. Not to mention how unforgiving it is for ANY JUNGLER to be behind, let alone a zero potential late game scale threat like Elise. To make matter worse, her early game is on even scale with a more tanky junglers like Nunu and Sejuani.
