Why isn't Rift Herald eaten by Baron?

Seriously. I feel riot is really missing this. a. It would be badass! b. It really brings the intertwines the lore together

However this would either push the baron timer back or the rift herald death back, not to mention if you wanted to do a last second rift herald fight baron would have to warp/ blow you out of his pit. It just would add to the theme.
