...would I have a bad time? Never played ranked before, but I play a lot of team builder.

Thoughts?

Try playing some normal draft pick and see how you fare in that, it'll get you used to the draft system that you'll be utilizing in ranked play, it'll get you used to not getting the role you want, and it relieves a large portion of the anxiety of going into ranked play, when you know what to expect at a lesser degree.

I've found that Team Builder typically gives me easier matches than normal draft pick does. I'm not sure why this is, but it seems to be the case usually.

Ranked is taken more seriously than Normal matches, so you're bound to have a more difficult time, but if you do fine in TB you should be fine in Ranked. Just go for it, don't get discouraged if you lose horridly, and just go back to Normals for a few matches if you go on tilt.

Just make sure you can:

play 3 or more roles comfortably, as you have to be prepared to not get your top-picked role.
keep your cool. Don't start ranked if you're already having a lose streak or a bad day in general, trust me.
Ban effectively if you end up banning. This is dependent on experience more than anything, so just make sure you note who's getting banned a lot and find out why that is in your ELO.

If you're worried, play normal draft mode, it'll get you into the mindset without the stakes.

Ranked games shouldn't be scary, although you can feel the extra pressure of wanting to win. That extra pressure makes it more fun, in my opinion. The extra pressure makes some people freak out and get mad at their teammates, which makes it not fun for anyone anymore. In summary, it's more fun than normals, even if you're bad, as long as you and your team aren't toxic

Ranked games are what you make them out to be. Sure there are people who take them seriously but you don't have to be one of those people, and that doesn't make you a troll.

At the end of the day this is a video game that is played to have fun. Go into ranked, try to win, have a good time.

And if some cocksucker wants to flame you for doing bad then fuck em, their opinion doesn't matter anyways and you will never see them again.
