About to buy a champ, help me decide!

Been doing research lately and I'm coming up on 3150 range. For a long time I was convinced I was going to buy Shen.
When I play with my group, I'm usually support and I've heard he makes a fun tanky-support. When I play solo, I usually go top.

Hence, Shen.

However, on a near split-second decision/whim, I decided to do some research on Shaco and discovered that he can also support and go top (I'm really not good at jungling). I've always been fascinated by his mind-games style and his ability to -poof- "Now I'm gone. NO I'M NOT!"

So....Shen or Shaco? Which is more fun/rewarding to play? How do they both do as support? How about top?

Funnily enough, after explaining this poll to a friend, telling them my conclusion and the results of the poll, they randomly gifted me Shaco. :D

honestly shaco support isnt that great and shaco top is really iffy he does best in the jungle, so i would recommend shen as he can top and support pretty good and is really fun

I would go Shen. Especially since you said you play top most often.

I'm not sure the state of Shaco support since the fear nerf in 4.3. It also seems like the addition of item 3341 would really hurt your effectiveness bot lane.

Shaco Top is the equivalent of ADC Teemo. Shen is not in a good spot right now.

And I'm just saying, buy using lolking, you need runes, preferably Armor yellows, scaling MR Blues and AD Reds.

Sorry if I sound boring, but I will be saving you a lot of frustrating games, you will notice that your gameplay will feel a lot more smooth with better runes as well.

Champions should only be bought when you have AT LEAST one perfect all round AP and one perfect all round AD rune page.

Shaco is more rewarding anywhere.

Shen is very fun though. And he actually fits the roles you want to play (laning Shaco wastes a lot of pressure power, I've tried)

Support Shen is better because he has no mana and can give his ADC some decent sustain as well. Also, Ki Strike + Relic Shield really does wonders to execute the cannon minion.

Shaco support is... meh. Stealth isn't very good for a supp (unless there is a Bushcrank), his utility is mediocre to help his carry, and he doesn't really tank much during skirmishes. Couple that with one CC that relies on the enemies walking close to it makes Shaco a nasty support to have, but I believe it can still work with the right person. Also, Shaco in lane has mana problems, quite a few of those, especially in a lane where he finds the need to Deceive often.

Both are really fun Both teach you a lot has subtleties can be built multiple ways etc. Both can fulfill multiple roles Ludens echo did buff shaco a bit but dfg was removed. Overall shen's recent buffs makes him the stronger pick for average player shaco takes more time to master.
