The evolution of ADC players.

At least from what I've seen.

  1. The fresh install, first time placements, full attack speed Ashe This guy hasn't unchecked the "auto attack" box under options>game. Stacks insane attack speed but no AD. Shoves lane nonstop, feeds just because he doesnt know what to do other than shove lane and get what cs autopilot attacking gets him.

  2. The guy who has prolly played the game a significant amount but could still benefit immensely from 10-20 min of last hitting in a custom game. This guy eats every Karma Q and most hooks. If somehow he does well in lane he stays and doesnt upgrade until he dies. These guys can have a surprising mid/late game, don't give up on them.

  3. Theres the guy who plays Twitch and either heard that good laners stand on top of the minions and trade attacks or just had a few good games and thinks he's good. Doesnt think about minions damage and eats a ton of poke trying to harass. 100% will chase a low hp support past tower. Late game Twitch is suppose to be good but in this guys hands it wont be.

  4. This adc seen a youtube video about "kiting" and thinks that kiting means moving a teeny little bit between auto-attacks. When being ran down or any situation where he/she should run it roots itself by autoing, after about 8 self inflicted roots the enemy gets a kill. These guys make a good decoy, hopefully the rest of you can win the 4v5. Also this can build excess confidence in the enemy. They're up 12 kills but your team has shutdowns and didnt farm a 0-10 champ so you arent that far behind unless you lost towers. 1 baron, 1 won teamfight and it's pretty even Steven despite what the score looks like.

  5. These adcs will stand and auto in a fight no matter what. Their brain has decided that there is a "chance of gold income" and they arent running away. Example: a gank comes botlane, this adc starts to bait, walking up and takes a lot of damage, is down to 10%, jungler jumps on enemy adc. This adc walks up and autos the enemy adc giving the enemy a kill before they both die. I see so many of these. Enemy adc will be fed but not necessarily good. Maybe easy to shutdown. Ally adc my be open to criticism but be carefull do not risk tilting him.

  6. The lone wolf. This one might be a decent laner.. and mixed with a good supp evolves into a beast. Not wanting to share the glory it split pushes and takes big risks, has a big bounty. Sometimes it does quite well on it own. Sometimes it throws and blames it's team. "D'uh.. 4 top guys push something" No, those 4 top are moving and we have to wait for a minion wave while they now collapse on the weaker 4. Idk how to reason with this guy if it goes poorly. Although geting him fed was a team effort he has a chance to afk will all of that gold and power.

  7. The glass cannon. This guy could have carried so hard. He's got everything he needs to succeed but if the enemy has any kind of engage or burst they catch this guy and can focus him down ridiculously fast, like 1 attack from a few champs annnnd ihe gone. You cant really peel for this guy, he just cant get in aa range and live. If he just had 1 defencive item it would be easy win. Or if your team had another high sustained dps. This guy is the reason that you need more than 1 carry in soloque. Don't put all your eggs in 1 basket. Go Graves, Yas, Ryze. Need big constant damage.

  8. This guy is a smurf or something. He plays Lucian atm and makes sweet trades, gets fed, doesnt really need much from his supp but it helps. It doesnt take much to win with this guy, just dont feed assassins and peel it's really easy.

  9. Burned out. This guy just plays.. but doesnt have fun. He's toxic. Who knows how good he is. He says he's real good but you could do an amazing job supporting. I mean amazing baits, poke, vision. Enemy got a double instead of him because this guy forgot to use heal. "gg ff20, report bot" If you can hold out til late game the enemy may make a mistake and this guys skills may return to him.

  10. Idk is there a 10? Maybe 10 is an enemy Caitlyn These guys seem to do well all the time. You surrender yout towers to this guy. You wont have HP or even a path to walk forward if a gank does come.

Evolutions I just haven't seen in the last few months:

"If I'm not doing well I don't want to win" You know when somebody else on your team is doing great. Your team overall is fine but since the enemy adc is ahead of this guy he just farms jg or pushes bot until he dies. He wants no part in a victory that he didnt carry.

Going for perfect cs. This guy can be baited by letting him push and when a minion gets low he is an easy target. Support pinging? mid mia? Twitch just went sneaky sneaky and Thresh walking up? Your supp is now halfway between you and the tower and the kill on you is so Garen -teed the jg goes straight for the supp instead.

Funny evolutions:

The Draven vs Vayne farming lane. /all you're fine with this huh? This guy even runs and dies when he could have killed everything. Misses cs just because his axes are not spinning WTF!!

alpha only loses if support is bad hehe xd Draven

Draven: watched old Tyler1 videos and goes all or nothing for first blood. Either he'll get it and play right for the rest of the game, or dies and feeds from there on.

I'm really not sure which of these I fall under. Probably different ones depending on the round.

you missed:

  1. the "I don wan no trouble" adc who only (and I mean ONLY) lasts hits minions in the laning phase, even if they are playing an aggressive champ that can bully/trade well with the enemy laner. naturally hides behind their support, even though janna/soraka is not a good champ to hide behind. plays passively functionally the whole game and is too scared to auto champs during teamfights and let's their tanks/team die for free. Has never experienced "winning the laning phase" due to them functionally being a punching bag in the laning phase. friendly junglers who have the unknowing misfortune to gank their lanes end up getting 2 v 1'd and die because the passive adc won't participate in ganks either. they just want to focus on last hits. "whaddya mean this game is a player versus player???"

  2. the Ezreal players that think that they can win a teamfight exclusively by firing Q every 3 seconds and never autoing. apparently doing 400 damage every 3 seconds (a whopping 133 dps) will totally kill their team in a reasonable time. right? Bonus points if they build blue build and do this and become a functionally worse version of karma. "my Q is perfect substitute for auto attacks"

  3. the adcs that find it _ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN _ to ever attack a tank. even if the enemy tank is overextending and it's totally free damage and you could totally just chunk their healthbars for free before the fight even breaks out. In the laning phase they refuse cannot mentally process hitting a braum/kench/thresh who is standing in their attack range. Some of them are so hard for not attacking tanks they will literally ignore the existence of the entire enemy frontline so they can hit the enemy mage/adc once before being killed by the frontline they've chosen to ignore. "guys we just need to focus their vayne"

  4. the ones that think they are Trundle/Zed and MUST splitpush 30 minutes into the game (cause every team_ needs_ a splitpusher right?). Bonus points if the entire enemy team was mid like 10 seconds ago and are currently MIA when the adc starts pushing past the river (and they keep pushing until they die). "5 bot"

  5. the ones that think they are Shen/Sion and MUST stand in the front of their team, especially when there's an enemy blitz/thresh/nautilus on the opposing team and especially if they are playing a carry without any mobility spells. "wow no peel gg"

  6. the carebears who didn't really do anything wrong. it's just their poor support got caught out and is guaranteed to die. BUT... they chose to stay and linger, and tried to see if they could help save their supports life. and of course they aren't playing a support (the role who is designed to save lives), so all that happens, is that their support dies, then they immediately get caught after and die too because they were in proximity. Completely preventable enemy doublekill, woulda been fine to just have that 1 guy to die instead of staying and risking 2 deaths, but you just had to stay and "see" if you could help out your support didn't ya? Apparently the concept of leaving someone behind does no exist. "The team is my OHANA and that means no one get's left behind". Usually these players are met with "this botlane" from the jungler/mid/top who is solo carrying and notices the combined botlane deathcount.

I also forgot the Vayne who tries to all in very early vs a much stronger lane and gets tilted rather than try to farm up and be great later. And the opposite of 6, the one who overextends and blames supp because he was left to 1v3.

What purpose is there to uncheck the autoattack box

I guess you could manage leaving it checked and control your attacks by moving. I'd highly recommend practicing last hits w/o it.

The 12th type: the "God Carry". Usually playing either Draven or Vayne. Is a self-declared god of ADC. Regularly requests ganks from the jungle so he can carry. If he gets them and carries, then it is solely because of his efforts (or so he says). If he doesn't, then he blames the rest of the team for the loss.

The 13th type: The autofill. Reports at the start that he/she sucks at ADC - requests other positions. Does a bad job at last hitting. Regularly gets caught out of position. Usually does one of the following: (1) accepts his fate and feeds; (2) pushes the lane like crazy leaving him open for ganks at river; and/or (3) alternatively chooses to blame his support for his miseries.
