I suck at everything! HELP!

So basically, I have a realllllllyyyyyy bad time doing literally everything; that is, except for support. I know a lot of people say that you can't really climb in ELO as a support main, but I need some reasons why and why not. I love playing support in literally every team-based, PVP game I have ever played, and have just been kinda bad at everything else since I've started gaming. Support comes naturally. So should I give this up and learn another role so I can climb in ELO with soloq? or should I just pick supports that can carry; such as Lux, Karma, Annie, etc. I have also been considering going Mid for soloq, but since that's a really wanted role, I've not really had luck in getting mid and end up playing support anyways. Any and all suggestions are welcomed! I've only played for a few weeks, so help would be awesome.

NO. Play the champ you like. Pick 2 different champs you really enjoy and get really good at those two; Then keep a positive attitude. while playing matches keep an eye out for good adcs you play well with and add them as friends duo que with them through ranked. ADCs are always willing to duo Que with a good support so add all the good ones. by good I mean good attitude. They may be amazing in mechanical skill but if they tilt after giving first blood one time. save yourself the headache.

After you get mastery with your two favorite champs just play ranked matches. Only ranked matches. win, lose, whatever just play ranked.

I also recommend getting a chat client like Curse.

I guess I have started to identify as a support main since probably 80% of my ranked games have been played as support. I can say you can definitely can win and rank up playing support. Figure out what type of supports or which supports you like and feel comfortable with and start learning them.

For example: The last 2 seasons I have been a Morgana support main. It started because I used to feel supports could not carry too much so I thought it would be nice to play more of a carry champion in the support role. I now realize support is a viable carry role and that Morgana has a lot of great support perks. Her snare is very long (i believe the longest?) snare in the game. If you land a snare on a gank the enemy will have to burn flash to survive and if flash is down there is a high chance they are dead. Her black shield is also very useful for stopping an ap assassin from bursting down a carry and stopping some major cc on a carry such as a Malphite ult or Fizz ult or w/e other cc. Her ult is also great and she does good damage even when building support.

I also realized I am more comfortable playing ranged supports rather than tanks so that is where the Morgana Sona Nami Thresh picks come in. If we do need a tank I started playing Nautilus support. He is banned a lot so I usually go a ranged champion but there are also other tanks such as Alistar Leona Braum I just don't feel as confident playing them.

Its all about figuring out what you like, what you are good at, learning, and practicing.

You can climb as support. Dynamic que op. Also, support is crucial. They make massive plays, and can easily alter the entire game when lategame comes around. Tank meta, so i would suggest playing tanky supports who have heavy cc or engages.

Support is great to climb with. Pick champions you're good at (so you can win) and that you enjoy (so you don't get bored spamming them) over team comp and counters. Counters only work if you know (and apply) why someone is a counter, otherwise you can't press the advantage. Similarly if something counters you, know what your weaknesses are and try your best to avoid exposing them.

As for other improvements, how are your mechanics? warding/vision control? trading? decision-making (e.g. calling objectives and teamfights)? communication (e.g. pings, saying ADC no flash/heal)? noting summoner cooldowns? noting whether the enemy jungler has buffs when he ganked? These can apply to other roles as well and help you and your team win games.

Meh people say a lot of dumb things such as "you cant rank up as support in elo hell". Don't listen to them and by all means play your role. Figure out your champions, figure out how to become better at your role and start climbing.
