Is Braum just a superior version of Leona?
If you think about it, it sort of makes sense. Both are tanky, aggressive supports, but braum seems to be superior in nearly every way. Leona has to go all in or nothing. Either she commits everything to fight, or she is just a non-factor and just another tank. Braum has poke and mobility. Their damage is around equal, both relying on allies to proc their passives for extra damage, but Braum packs in extra cc and more damage compared to leona. Both also have a shield/resistance boost, but Braum's comes with mobility, plus the ability to shield an ally as well. Leona can hardly peel for her adc, and feels more like an out of place tank with a mediocre support passive, whereas Braum feels like he is completely fit for the role. Their ults are pretty much equal, trading a stun/slow for a knockup/slow. But the point is, Braum feels better than Leona, and compared to her he has everything except a gap closer, but his w is pretty much good enough for that. Maybe this is why Braum is pretty much played or banned in every pro game.
