Something should be done about olaf

Olaf has always been my favorite champion, but for quite some time now( idk like a year and 2 months) olaf has been really... Lackluster to me. It seems like he has lost his late game scaling, olaf used to be able to build like a bruiser and do lots of damage all throughout the game, but he had a very restricting weakness... If you could dodge his Undertow he really couldn't catch up to you. Riot tried to rework olaf after the heavy nerfs, and while the rework (IMO) had a few successes, I had more failures. Honestly I feel like the rework should (mostly) be reversed, but with some small compensatory buffs to Olaf's kit. I feel like the change to Olaf's E was a good change, the previous damage on his E was SO MUCH, at level nine, two e's on an enemy champion was almost 700 true damage! That's similar to the damage a Darius ult would deal at that level! I think this change should be kept. One major failure of the rework was the moving of Olaf's Ad steroid from his W to his ultimate, while his R gives a little more damage, the steroid is MUCH less accessible (70-80s cool-down difference) also, riot gave olaf an attack Speed steroid, AN ATTACK SPEED STEROID, on a NO MOBILITY BRUISER! I get that olaf already has an as steroid on his passive, but at the point where the passive starts to become really usefull, your enemy whom you are fighting will either be locked in a duel with you or chasing after you for the kill because you got caught out. Here are the scalings for my proposed W: 9/12/15/18/21+ 2% of your max health bonus Ad, 9/12/15/18/21 bonus lifesteal and 1% increased healing for each 2% missing hp. This skill would be kindof a one point wonder skill, although this doesn't really change his damage all that much, the accessibility of the bonus Ad is the big change I'm looking for. Olaf's ultimate ability, ragnarok would still grant the same CC reduction, but I would like to return some of its armor penetration Here are the numbers: passively, olaf gains 10//15/20 bonus armor and magic resistance. upon activation, olaf gains 15/20/25 bonus armor penetration, and his passive armor and MR are increased by half, when his ult is on cooldown, however, he loses the passive benefits.

Overall I think these changes will bring olaf into real viability by giving him the same amount of innate damage and tankiness but giving him easier accessibility to it.

I truly hope you enjoyed my wall of text, I can't be the only one who wishes for riot to change his R and W (mostly) back If you agree/ like these changes, bump or spread the word, If you dislike them, say so, and be descriptive/ provide some changes YOU'D make to help olaf out! Sincerely, someone who wishes to hear BROMACIA! and KABLOEY! More often.

After tinkering, and feeding for a few games ive changed my opinion of olaf.

I want you to try rushing hydra and building (in between defensive items) trinity force and then full tank on olaf. The lifsteal from his W is otherworldly and i feel like he has as much late game impact as a jax or irelia.

Its also important to max CDR

BTW the only real problem i have with olaf is that he loses his passive stats when activating his ult, i also wished it gave him bonus armor pen again.

I play a lot of olaf, and I usually have some good success with him, albeit at silver-gold mmr.

My usual build is start Dorans blade/shield, rush triforce/IBG, build tank if you're behind, build zephyr/BoRK if you're feeling like you can snowball. Boots are your choice, but I usually go swiftness or ninja tabi.

Max E>W>Q against melee lanes, Q>W>E against ranged lanes.

Usual build will look something like item 3284 item 3078 item 3143 item 3065 item 3153 and then whatever you need for the game.

The one thing I would want to change in his kit is to either gain movespeed while his ult is active or not lose his passive armor/mr. Maybe tone down the AD to 30/45/60 and give 15/20/25% movespeed would be good IMO.

But that's more to make him strong than to make him viable, because I think he can do really well as-is.
