How is Graves doing in preseason?

Im interested in this because I got the victorious skin and I gave him a try on several games. However I performed pretty badly in all of them, and im not talking about my own mechanics. Its more like, its difficult to gank since i have no cc. If I keep farming to scale I end up not dealing enough dmg anyways since champions like Vi, Xin Zhao or Udyr basically build 2 dmg items and go tanky after and for some reason deal double my dmg. So do you guys think? Is Graves negatively affected by the preseason or is it just me not doing well enough?
