New Ryze in the LCS

So I have been Analyzing the new Ryze being played in the LCS, and it would appear that they are maxing his Rune prison first.

Rune Prison has a 1.75 duration at max level. with a 14 second cooldown. His Q has a 4 second cooldown.

With 20% CDR, these would be 11.2 and 3.2 respectively. and his passive reduces his cooldowns by the cd of his Q.

We can assume that a Q-E-Q is easily performed during the duration of this cooldown. So once his Rune prison goes on Cooldown. 11.2s - 3.2*3 = 1.6 seconds which is less than the duration of the root.

So at level 9 with 20% CDR, Ryze has a perma root, at least for duration of his passive which is 6 seconds at all levels.

Something tells me Riot won't let this be unanswered.

agree, thats also the whole reason Huni maxed W first, if yur target can't move for the 6 sec of passive+ult, Q beeing a skillshot isn't a big downside anymore. I think the 6+sec point n click root-abuse is the only reason ryze is picked or band in lcs

I think he's perfect leave him alone! A lot better than the old style, that's for sure.

If you want to check you can just find the game you want on http://na.lolesports.com/schedule/ then click player builds and game analysis.

I can tell you that Huni definitely did, although CuVee didn't.

That's not perma root, that's casting the root two/three times in machine gun mode.

If you read carefully, the Q is not fully reduced (it goes to .25 seconds cooldown), meaning you're adding an extra .5 seconds between the two Q's

Edit: Or I think all this math is hurting me in the head, this point doesn't add anything to the reduction of the W cooldown sorry
