I finally hit plat, 1 trick pony Poppy. it was so close won 2 lost 2. down to this last game vs Quinn and I did it, I beat her in lane and then I won. I'm so happy as this is the only time I've took ranked seriously (not sure if there's any point trying for diamond as season is almost over)

Restless Slumber2 votesYou don't have to try for diamond necessarily, but you should try to go further than plat 5. Plat 5 and 4 were elo hell for me for the longest time. After getting Plat 3, it took me 2 weeks of playing to get diamond. I would just suggest trying to go further because of how awful the games can be in low plat tbh.
