Change tier 1,2,3 rune to a single rune system that lvls up as u use them more.

its simple make it lvlup along with the games played with that rune. This way u can make them cheaper and also ensure it to still have an impact later on. The only thing i have no idea is this will work very well from lvl 10-30+ but for lvl 30 players who buys new rune will have to go through the tedious task of lvling them up. So just make sure to make it no boring to lvl them up :D

I would dig this runes anytime over the current system cause man the current ones are not worth the ip when i have over 60 more champs left to unlock :'(

Gameplay side: This is a very good system too as players can understand which of these runes are also worth for that particular rune page combo u were looking for. We as a player get to play test our each build over many games and hence can come up with good combination of rune page that fits our needs.

Either like this idea, or like this one : single rune system that lvls up in game as well which is pretty much too op and ensures pay to win model :P

Interesting and new idea for the rune system.

Or just have the runes level with the account. As your account passes certain levels your runes level up, similar to an ult. This way there's no level 30 grind for new runes, so you're not handicapped just because you finally got a rune page specific to a champion.

I think this is a better idea.

The ''level up on use'' system makes it really, really hard for people testing new runes. It basically punishes you for testing new runes.

The ''level up on summoner level'' makes more sense.

well its good for the players and I too thought of this at 1st but was worried about the ip pricing from Riots point of view. I mean its definitely fun for low lvl summoners but for those in lvl30 the one you mentioned is basically the same as we have right now unless the ip price is lowered.

My point in creating a lvl system was to reduce the cost of ip on runes, which is pretty high right now to get the stats that we are not sure if it will work with a particular champion. With the system i mentioned Riot can easily reduce the ip value and also ensure players will be able to easily acquire them and try out. I mean what is the point for Riot to add ip on runes in the 1st place ? Its so that players will have something to play and earn and keep coming back for more League Of Legends. Riot already gives masteries for free i dont think they will ever think of free rune system if its the same one we have right now. I know its bad for us players but i dont think Riot is ever gonna be an angelic company providing everything free for their players. They have to survive through micro-transactions. :)

The rune system i mentioned is a win-win state for both Riot and the players even though lvl30 players will have to lvl grind them.

ill upvote this as it sounds good.

thank you, this sounds simple and i think riot themselves must have easily thought of this too, but even if they thought of it and then considered them to be a bad solution it would be good to hear why it turned out to be a bad idea when applied and what kinda results they got from their brainstorming session of other rune ideas.

I mean we get to hear many things being updated and talked about but runes and rune page discussions never happen :(

but then that would be a pseudo gain of ip in the system and we can't have that now can we???

the problem with this is it helps two groups of people

smurfs, which we don't really want

and

people who are for the most part, ignorant/oblivious so rito just exploits this ignorance

yeah that smurfs thing is a problem for both the ideas about new runes i've mentioned in this post.

Whats your say on tying the rune page to each champion which can be accessed once u reach a particular mastery lvl with that champion and keeping the same rune tiers (to counter smurfs) but also reducing the runes ip value ?

I've explained this in detail in another comment on this thread. Check it out :)

well the thing that never made sense to me when i joined lol and even now is that the ip pricing of champions never made sense. Does 6300ip mean high skill cap champs, if so then why are there similar skilled champs in lower ip ? That never made sense. Riot's Ip barrier on champions was just a way to keep us coming back to play LOL.

ya the lvl up on summoner lvl is a little better as it encourages early purchases of runes makeing the game fairer for newer players

Here's another thought that will keep lvl grinding (for Riot's sake) and easy accessibility of runes and rune page (for players sake).

Idea : -How about adding rune page for each champion instead of having a rune page section. This can be hidden under champion masteries 5+ . In this way we get to earn a free rune page via champion mastery grinding which gives us enough exp to understand the champion and decide on the runes we want. Runes can have extremely lower ip rate if we have to buy runes for each champion.

Reasoning : -As i mentioned about Riot's micro-transaction business model and their philosophy on a player's learning curve of the game, this rune system mentioned above will work for them as well as keep the players happy :)

-Extremely low ip values on runes and free rune page unlocked on reaching a particular champion mastery lvl will ensure players are also having a blast unlocking and collecting runes.

-Buying runes for each and every champion with this lower ip runes will ensure players feel they are indeed gaining something for their League Of Legends game time and have new options to spend ip other than to feel miserable in unlocking a 1000ip rune when u could've easily unlocked ashe and annie, which is how it is right now :D
