Irelia Vs. Vladimir
Hey guys, I am interested in playing the top lane and have decided between Irelia or Vladimir. If i were to get one, which one should I get?

It really depends on whether or not you want to have your autoattacks do tons of damage or get infinite sustain in lane and have your abilities do tons of damage. If you want the former, get Irelia, but for the latter, get Vlad.
Irelia has a stronger mid game and a tankier late game. Vladmir has a more variable build, but he tends to shine in the late game.
Both have fairly good build paths that can build into more assassin like damage or more sustain-tank like survivability.
Of the two I play Vlad, so I can only speak in depth about him.
He's good, though a bit toxic so be aware. There are two things you want to do quickly when in game, one is max CDR, Wota and DFG can do that easily, the second is maxing your Q and E, this lowers their cooldowns to the point that you can spam them like no tomorrow. This makes you a nightmare for the enemy in team fights, and if they try to focus you, pool out and start again.
vladimir tends to counter most top lanes but has a different role outside of lane phase (that being damage / disruption) Where as irelias job is to be a tank / bruiser and to either soak or deal damage. I would honestly settle with neither and go for a more meta top laner. For Solo Q counterpicks Vlad does his job well I suppose but with him I would take a strategy of trying to end the game as early as possible rather than dragging anything out.
