New Champs Circumvent Weaknesses of their classes: Part 1
The new champions of the past 2 to possibly 3 years, often have something built into their kit that allows them to circumvent weaknesses that the classes they belong to, are intended to have.
I'm just going to look at the past six newest champs released:

######~~ Kai'Sa ~~
May as well start this in order.
Kai'Sa. Vayne 2.0 as some people call her.
First, Kai'Sa is allowed to circumvent the usual building restrictions that most Marksmen of her class have; most ADCs build exactly that, AD and Crit and On-Hit, if you're someone like MF, Varus or Kog'Maw. But Kai'Sa here is able to build EVERYTHING except Defensive stats, and be just as effective, sometimes if not MORE, as any other ADC. Every ability has some form of Scaling, be it AD, AP or AS, making her INCREDIBLY VERSATILE; other Marksmen WISH they had the versatility she has.
Sure, some ADCS have AP Scalings, such as 
with his Q and E having AP Scalings, or 
and her R having a 100% AP Scaling, or 
having AP Scaling on ALL 4 Abilities. But remember, Kog is build almost exclusively as an On-Hit ADC. Kai'Sa CAN go that route if she chooses, but if that doesn't work, she can just choose one of the many more roads that are open to her.
Then, while it only lasts 0.5 Seconds, she can grant herself Invisibility (Sound Familiar 
?) AND she gives herself a SHIELD that scales up to 200% AD and 75% AP at max rank. It only lasts up to 2 seconds, but depending on timing, that can still block a great deal of damage, EVEN from an Assassin or Mage, the counter to her class. Or if the shield isn't enough, depending on positioning of foes, she can just use it to ESCAPE the Assassin or Mage entirely, on top of probably having a 
to further deter their effectiveness against her.
There's a REASON she's called Vayne 2.0; just like how you can't build against Vayne's particular form of True Damage (Max HP%), you, in essence, can't build against a Kai'Sa either, because if one road doesn't work, she'll just go down the other that will.

Oh boy is THIS one gonna be fun.
Yes, yes, I KNOW HE GOT NERFED THIS PATCH!
Pyke's first problem is that the two classes he so-called belongs to: Assassin and Support, in a manner of speaking, COUNTER EACH OTHER. An Assassin is supposed to go in and kill the squishy thing, be it a Mage or a Marksman; the Support's supposed to (For the most part) STOP the Assassin, though that may not always be possible if the Support themselves IS the squishy thing that the Assassin's after; that depends on WHO the Support is.
But similarly with Kai'Sa, Pyke is ANOTHER case of "Have your Cake and Eat it Too" syndrome that's plagued the last couple of Champ Releases, IMO. First, he has more CC and Sustain (Via Grey Health) than most Assassins (Akali Says Hello) off the bat. Q: Conditional Slow (If not charged) or a Pull AND a Slow (If Charged). E: Dash AND a conditional Stun (If the secondary phantom hits the champion) The Grey Health got nerfed (And rightfully so), but most assassins can't just go into stealth and then come back with near-full health unless they've got an Enchanter pumping them full of fresh new HP.
Then of course, there's the Ult. First, the Execute is so generous with it's threshold it makes Darius blush, and second, it grants so much gold, a high-stack League of Draven would be envious! (Look at that Pyke, you pissed off BOTH the Blood Brothers) A few kills, and you can be staring at a Pyke with a full build within minutes.
Now I know; this guy's been nerfed, so he's PROBABLY (Knock On Wood) not as bad as he's been the last couple of patches. But the fact that he has ALL OF THESE THINGS, in his kit is something an assassin released in past seasons could only dream of.

I'll hopefully continue this with Neeko and Sylas tomorrow, but I hope this gets you to see that the new champions released nowadays have gifts and get-out-of-jail-free cards that previous champions have been dumpstered for.
