How can I motivate my team mates to pick tanks?
Hey, my problem is that my team mates already doesn't pick a tank. How can I motivate them?

be the tank
That was not my question.
Well that's the best answer if you're not the ADC.
I found my best answer
What do you think about "squishy are for pu**ys"
That is great because nobody wants to be the ... :). With that psychology aspect they will pick tanks.
As a tank main, I approve.
Start with "We could use a tank on the team, do one of you mind being a tank for us?"
That is not agressive enough. The sentence should have a Trump touch.

Trump can go shove his wall into open border.

It's like the support problem, Nobody wants to tank because they can't carry playing the tank.
I could play the tank, I could play the support, but usually not both at the same time. (Don't rely on your gold starved member to be the sole defensive line.)
But if you find an answer to your question, let me know.
You can't. Unless they came into that game to play a tank in the first place, you are powerless to persuade them to otherwise. You'll either have to: A. Hope one of your team mates realizes your team needs a tank (if it does) B. Play the role of the tank C. Accept that you're not gonna have a tank and play something that may excel without a tank
Don't pick a squishy jungler like Yi.
When I am saying that, they will not pick a squishy champion?
The thing about asking someone to pick a tank is essentially asking someone to do no damage and to take a ton of it. The main problem is that any time a tank engages, teammates scatter leaving them to fend for themselves in a lot of cases.
Say you ask me to pick a tank, but I'm first pick: what do I choose? A heavy disengage or a heavy engage? My comfort pick tends to be Leona. Now let's say champ select rolls around and here are the teams
vs

Now, as the tank how do you think I feel in this situation? Chances are I'm going to be afraid to engage because I know if I don't land an ult on at least 3 of them, my team is going to be bursted.
Now, if I were a later pick and you chose the four champions on the left side, again do I want to be the tank knowing that I'm probably the one who's job is to peel AND lock down the enemy? If you can pick a juggernaut/tank jungle or top then I would be more willing to pick on. If it's a team of carries, I'm probably going to go for a more utility-based champion like Nami or Sona.

It appears you are playing the wrong champions. For champions that can build mostly or full defensive and still do damage, I suggest:
Amumu, Sion, Kled, Lee sin, Gnar, Gragas, Irelia, Nasus, Olaf, Renekton, Trundle, Vi.
I was trying to make the point of you have one tank and a bunch of squishies. If you're playing against a team that knows what to do, you're going to be kited, your team will be picked off and then you're left to 1v4 at the very least.
And if you have to 1 v 4; you will need some damage.
I prefer Amumu in this situation.
Though it seems you are talking about support while OP is talking about jg/top.

This is the train of thought I am trying to counter. There are tanks that do plenty of damage.
Not sure of the relevance in todays game; but back in the day someone did a test. They 1 v 1 with Ashe. One Ashe took all the defense masteries and the other took all the offense masteries. The defense Ashe actually won the 1 v 1.
That would be interesting to see. I tend to run 18/0/12 taking the shield thingy in the Defensive tree. Helps me keep pace with the hypercarries.
If you are playing in low elo, those players won't care about picking a tank. Bad players don't understand that a tank is somewhat important. No one in low elo likes being told what to play.
Pick a tank yourself if you care that much. It is that simple. Comps do not even matter that much if you are a good enough player until platinum.
That's sad. I lose very often games because of that.
The other problem with picking engage champs with bad players is sometimes you will engage and simply be abandoned by your team. That really frustrates me when I play an engage tank, which is why I avoid playing engage tanks.
