Why do Support Mains get Punished?

Honestly, Support is a position that always needs to be filled. You can try to carry with Brand, Malzahar, or Zyra, but in the end you're at the mercy of all the other roles. I have been going through the ladder doing my best, but I am always getting my LP taken away by other lanes feeding. My friend told me the only way to get out is to not support. I enjoy playing support. Recently I got demoted after League's MMR system kept sending me into teams that would give up early and constantly FF, or feed intentionally. I just want to rank up the honest way, but League is making that really hard. Please find a solution for this.

Ward, ping, peel, lead; you can make shitty teammates look a lot better than they really are as a good Support, but you also have to recognize which ones you can't help so that you can focus your efforts on a carry more worth your time.

Supports get crapped on because when it comes down to it, they generally can't carry.

They don't dps and aren't really super-tanky. (They can build it, and there are a few specific champs of course.) The role of the support doesn't allow for some of the heavier gameplay that can lead to victory, except generally in the form of AoE CC usually. If your team sucks, you can't bring your team to victory by yourself easily.

I honestly think they need a way to impact gameplay on a less confrontational manner, things that would help them be the pushers. Being able to drive the lane push would give them more purpose I think.

Duo , playing support for worthless laners will just get you down , no point if you can't depend on your team. Or just play mid/jg to carry games if ranking up is what matters to you
