We all love GP but his new passive doesn't seem to interact with his Q. His old passive did and gave a nice slow to annoy them. Without this interaction he loses some ground against ranged matchups. Even if it means slightly nerfing his passive it would be nice to have for poke.

An upvote is a vote for GP poke. DO IT FOR THE DAMAGES (I mostly play GP mid so I might be slightly biased, and perhaps this would be too much for other top laners to compete with when others play him top)

Edit: I mean the true passive not his E on live. CLARITY

He will have Powder Kegs he can use (tossed at range), which will proc gold from his Q. That means he can both harass the enemy and CS, instead of currently having to choose one or the other.

The barrels are for zoning, not poke, and opponents won't walk into the radius unless you bait them with a pink ward or they are melee and about to miss cannon. And his Q is on short enough of a CD that he can farm and poke at once. Right now nothing procs his passive except walking up and autoattacking, which can be difficult in certain matchups. Maybe I just like being da-rude-est and rushing sheen to poke my enemies for 200+ a DoT that adds ~40 dmg on.

Those kegs will make him potentially even worse against ranged champions because they can be defused for free gold. Gangplank's Q has a long cast time and will take longer to reach a keg than a ranged champion's autoattack, plus the enemy doesn't have to get in range of the keg's explosion in the first place.

I'm also sad at the loss of his old E. No more running at 450+ MS with bonus 28 AD. WHAT WILL I DO, I DON'T HAVE AD RUNES ONLY TANK ONES FOR SUPPORT THAT I RUN ON ALL ADs.

oh no not his useless e that give you movement speed at the price of STOPPING and standing still . seriously I love gp but hes trash now, hes not tanky, hes not strong enough either. if you build him full damage he gets nuked, if you build him tank he does 0 damage and has no cc anyways other than terrible ult and passive that does minimal slows unless you get all 3 stacks. his q costs way too much mana for it being the one spell he gets damage from. he is a melee champ with no engage or escape or burst or real sustain his w is on a 12 second cd at max cdr and it costs a quarter of his mana so thats not sustain more like a last resort. hit ult never ever kills anyone unless thay are dumb enough to stay in it or have 50 hp when you use it. everyone else just outclasses him. his base armor and mr are crap and his base damage is low too because what his e gives damage? riot made gp weak because he has a spell that gives him some damage 28 ad at max? thats NOTHING. sorry i went on a rant but thats because i love gp, and riot made him worse than urgot or yorick. all of that was fine while gp passive also did grievious wound because at least he could be a counter pick the second they removed that gp had 0 reasons to be played other than showing your opponent they suck so bad you beat them with the worst champ in the game.

TL;DR all of gp's current spells suck

I don't know, maybe it's my elo but i usually wreck face as GP mid without too much trouble unless I get really far behind. His live passive is REALLY under estimated because that slow when you chase them to turret lets you catch up and get tthe last aa. His live E passive is great as it helps since I run full tank runes on him but the active is lacking. I like that the passive incentives me to build swiftness boots for chasing, running, and negating slows that allow people to kite him. With swift boots and no cc on me I can attain a nice 450MS. My mid lane build on him is item 3078 item 3009 item 3087 item 3031 item 3074 item 3512 . In that order usually. I JUST WANT ZZROTS ITS A LAST ITEM AND DEFENSIVE. DONT JUDGE ME. His new passive is better, although I would rather a slow than a movespeed boost. I just want his Q to proc it.
