To those of you who play champions "first time" in ranked.

Just don't. It ruins your teams experience. I just played a game where we had a cho'gath who picked him and then said "what do i max on cho, this is my first time and he looks fun". He fed his lane who snowballed the game. Please, when you plan on playing a champion in ranked, practice it in normals first to save your team some LP. Sometimes it does work, but most times, you end up 0-10 like my cho'gath in my game. Save everyone some LP.

Their may be good reasons why you pick a particular champion. Though I usually study these champs in LCS or other videos to get an Idea how they are used, and what they bring to the team.

This was not Ranked. But one time in team builder, The premade I was in insisted that we do an All freljord team. So I wound up playing Lissandra Mid lane for the first time in a PvP matchup. Studying her in the LCS, I learned that she is effectively an engage mage. Use her E to enter the fray. W to lock the enemy up. Q to damage key targets, And using you ult to either lock up a crucial targets, or protect yourself as the rest of your team follows up. (alternatively using Zonya's.

Result, I was doing So so. I was unable to deny the enemy Oriana, and she got to a point where she could one shot carries. But I was able to do Exactly what I intended to do Playing Liss, and we won off a god like engage.

it was like my 3rd time Leona and i locked her in in ranked. Right away i felt like a horrible person. but it didn't really matter because the enemy bot lane sucked XD.

but really, i wouldn't recommend doing that. only reason i did was because blitzcrank was banned and got stuck as support

I'd say yes, but that's also bc I don't count bots games as real games. I usually play a bots game to figure out the range/hit box on skills then jump in ranked. Tends to work fine if the champ is something I would do well with And if it isn't then I I mean at least I learned something. Then again the only normal games I've played in the last year were two where I invited someone to duo ranked and they were with someone and invited me to a normal.

Sometimes your forced to play champions first time since like your team goes like 3 ap and you need to go ad you need to find a champ that doesnt get utterly destroyed by the enemy champ and is ad. So you may need to play a first time champ.
