Ever since the changes to Trinity Force I see so many people build Gangplank with wayyyy too much cdr. TF and Essence Reaver AND Lucidity boots are super popular to build on him from what I've seen. Do people not know that the cap is 40% and those items give you 60%? Or am I missing something obvious?
only gives more CDR if you build more crit past it's own. It has a base of 10 otherwise.
Those 3 items give him 40% alone. Tf lost the crit on it so you only get 10% from reaver, until you get more crit. And according to op.gg the most popular build is still tf into boots and IE.
I think the idea is that since your making GP bucks it doesn't matter if your gold inefficient. But my GP build is in limbo right now cuz of this :/
People still build it because the sheen proc is(and always has been) super important for GP.
Please, blue build GP is better
I assume ionian is built early, then I guess triforce > reaver or whatever, but anyways GP wants CDR early so he builds it early, ER comes into effect (making the build "cost inefficient") pretty late. I assume later on they'll probably sell boots for something else.
Also keep in mind the wasted CDR isn't honestly that much wasted gold, it's like buying TForce for manaless champions for example. They'll probably sell the boots later for a more appropriate one, but it's probably not worth it to delay the next big purchase just to sell current boots for another pair.
Most popular and highest winrates both build IE and two sheen items instead of ER so I don't know why you're seeing people build it.
You must just be playing with people who don't keep up on the patch notes.
