What do people hate assassins so much?

I've been playing for a while and its been bugging me for sometime of late that the people on the boards just hate assassins to a almost depressing level. I can understand that its not fun to be 100 to 0 in a rotation of spells but how is that any different from a mage doing the same thing or a adc just autoing you to death or a tank just killing you while you can't fight back cause you do no damage. I want to know what it is that make assassins so much worse to deal with for other people.

I play almost every role so i have been on the wrong end of every champion in the game at least once so and we at least try to have a civil discussion and not turn this into a X champion hate thread cause we have enough of those as is.

Because as a general rule you can't punish them for fucking up unless they potato style fucked up.

Mage, or adc positions wrong, they die. Assassin does it they just jump 12 screen lengths away and wait 10 seconds for cooldowns.

Because assassins leaves other 80 champions unplayable.

The problem is that they pretty much combine the most frustrating aspects of enemies into one class. They have lots of mobility,so they are hard to catch AND hard to run away from. They also have lots of burst,meaning you have only a small window of time to react to their attacks Pretty much every assassin has some abilities that are impossible to dodge,which makes their snowballiness even worse They are useless if they are behind,meaning that they can be a burden when they are in your team and don't do good.

The assassin-update tried to help with these things a bit,changing armor-pen to lethality(so they are less snowbally and have a tool to help them if they are behind) and increasing the time they need to burst someone down,but it remains to be seen how good this actually worked out.

they have targeted abilities and have been largely dumbed down, easy to play, with maximal reward (remove the enemy adc) with a minimal risk.

they were supposed to be high skill cap champs to do it, but heck, "just press R". cant miss it anyway.

Because people get all pissy in the pants when a spooky guy or gal jumps them and makes them go boom. That's it.

Which is quite honestly silly when I can be minding my own business and a Lux can kill me from lane while I do my blue buff.
