Why isn't veigars ult damage absolute? Looking for opinions here experts that can help answer this.
Okay so let me clarify a bit more on the title, I've been doing a lot of supporting lately and been enjoying myself with
as my main support but I've come across a few moments now that seem rather stupid or buggy for his event horizon and his ult. also TL;DR for those of you who want it, Yi surviving high end burst from veigar when super low and in healing mode, yi and several others walking through event horizon after its been up for a second or so.
I'm not whining, bitching, qq'ing or anything like that, can go look at my match history for ranked with Veigar. I'm here looking for actual info and opinions on stuff that I've come across.
First onto his ult, if Veigars ult is based on doing a low burst to high burst execute based on missing HP, how is yi able to survive at about the 40 to 50% hp mark? (Copied the dudes build and at lvl 18 with what he had rune and mastery wise and items he had 2126 hp max and I got him to about 980 to 1000 before ulting and his heal saved him when ignite was running and there was 2 damage sources when he was in heal mode (his heal doing 110+13 with his build and masteries). Now lets assume that for
I'm able to just one shot him if he normally wasn't in W at this execute range of hp. Why does the heal allow him to take almost no damage from an ult that basically should be executing him at the amount hes at. Why is that? Even for 70% reduction, 2 sources of damage with high burst should been enough to destroy him even at the reduced damage junction. Now I can understand you can say oh but hes tacking on hp when you do it.. yeah but what difference does an extra 100 or so hp make if the ult is basically an execute? (same could apply for morg shield or any other high value shield that could somehow save someone)

with those items in mind and the benchmark 108 stacks as well, veigar ult has a low end base damage of 325 + 555 and ramps up to a high base damage of 650 + 1111 ap being registered into the ult and that's at the max optimal missing health damage situation for ulting.
Lets also bear in mind that my W also does 300 base + 741 ap and that my normal combo is E > W > Ignite > Ult
how is that not enough to just insta gib a yi (or most low people with a shield that at best blocks maybe lets say 500 damage or have a heal like yi for sake of argument) at the optimal high point damage of the ult?
Second part, During my games myself and others have come to noticed moments where upon dropping event horizon, some enemy champs had walked straight through it like it wasn't even there and these guys didn't have merc treads, cleanse or any type of cc clear ability. They will walk into the wall and then half a second later pull back away from it and completely avoid it. Is this a bug or something else? Isn't the only activation delay for event horizon present when it's being spawned and when it's fully formed it's active and can CC people?
