Why does Pyke have better tank stats then tanks/juggernauts?

At lvl 18:

2345 Hp and 106 Ar

2180 Hp and 107 Ar

2026 Hp and 109 Ar

2104 Hp and 100 Ar

2282 Hp and 107 Ar

(Hp N/A cuz W) 83 Ar(lol)

2230 Hp and 92 Ar

2206 Hp and 99 Ar

2300 Hp and 130 Ar??????????????????

Just so we're clear, Pyke has higher armor then any other champ. (Also has the highest scaling Mr in the game) The only champs with higher Hp at lvl 18 are and . WTF?

Why is he so tanky? If he's an assasin, why does he have tank stats? If he's a tank, why can't he build Hp and is encouraged to build Lethality?

Don't tell me he has these stats beause he has to dive into a teamfight, because that's not a reason. His teamfght is actually safer then: and yet he has better stats then all of them.

What am I missing here?

Pyke converts the bonus health to ad. So he cant get any higher HP than 2300. On the other hand all the other can easily get wayyyy more than 3000 health. So if Pyke get rooted or stunned and get focued by 2 or 3 at the same time in the one shot damage meta we are in then he disappers faster than Shaco Q or Kha zix R.

With tank stats juggernauts tank and even mages end up with 100's if not thousands more health than him

He is a melee support that is encouraged NOT to build as a tank, but to build as an assassin.

However, in lane, he can't really play as an assassin because he is facing off against two enemy champions, one of which is commonly a marksmen, typically focusing on sustained physical damage output.

High base stats don't make someone a tank. Pyke has a very limited HP pool (2,300 at lvl 18) that he can never expand and Pyke will almost never build resistance items.

So yes, you're right, he does have high base stats and a decent max HP, **but that's all he gets. **

This was done to compensate for the fact that Pyke can not get any extra health. His high armor also has to do with what he does, seeing as he is a CC Support. CC Supports need to be able to initiate a fight without commiting suicide. This is most often avoided by making the champion a tank or fighter, but Pyke is an assasin, so he needs some of the extra tankiness.

If Galio is a burst mage, why is he so tanky? Also because he can't build any form of HP as a melee champion. Typically if you synergize (See Malphite for Armor, and Sion for HP) you will get slightly less than your average melee. So seeing as he can't build any HP, and has been HIGHLY disincentivized to build anything tank, he's got some tankier items.

Also not sure why you think his teamfight is safer than Fizz (untargetable > camo), Talon (invis > camo), or Rengar (built in Cleanse and instant major heal) lol
