“If it’s not fun what’s the point”-Nintendo
Riot games, I’m not the one to be toxic and complain or any of that, I am just hear to tell you something you need to know. I have played the moba genera for many years now, I have had good experiences in the past and just love the concept. I originally came here from dota, you may ask why I quit, and the reason so is what I’m trying to warn you about right now. Your game will die, it will die tomorrow or maybe in 10 years, it will, and you know this along with everyone in your fan base yet you sit there and continue with what you are doing. Riot as a dear friend said to me and the hearts of many “If it’s not fun, what’s the point”. Companies such as yours has lost the point of why you came to be or what got you here, you lose value of your work and have forgotten who it is for, video games are a form of art and entertainment, they bring joy to me and many others, they allow friends to be created and life long bonds. You have forgotten what you set out to create, not an esport, not a game with interesting and unique gameplay, you wanted to make a game that anyone could enjoy, a game people could call fun. Sadly all that has been forgotten, you don’t focus on the fun of the game but rather it’s inner parts. Dota has fallen victim to this as well as every other big game out there from call of duty and so on, they spend all there time on the game and not the player, halo is a great example of this, the company has turned inside out reversing its true values. Riot games, what a company, you have had a long run but you will become yet another dead game in the piles of many, your esport will be forgotten and become yet another joke to the outside world. Stop focusing on your esport, that’s not what got people to play nor will it ever, a game is still a game and it needs to be fun for everyone, games should not be so one sided, my role should not be so linear and useless. Don’t toss this discussion out the window along with the piles of toxic ones, if your game doesn’t satisfy the people who play it then you have failed as a company, if you don’t listen to your large community and toss their suggestions aside, what’s the point, why do you still care about the game. Your Not setting out to do the right thing, your not focusing on the main topic, your not listening to the same people who got you to where you are.
