RIP Sorcerer's and Berserker's?

I've noticed quite often that in my solo queue games and in LCS, ADCs and AP mages/assassins are no longer building sorcerer's shoes and berserker's grieves. Instead, they're opting for ninja tabis and merc treads as their tier two boots.

It felt unusual when I built tabis on Cait and mercs on Fizz/Kat/Ahri, but I realized that sorcerer's shoes and berserker's aren't really necessary. Like sure, they're obviously useful in some cases, but a majority of the time they're just redundant.

Anyways, I'm a goldie so feel free to tell me if you think my post is dumb and that my thoughts are "boosted." Thank you! I would love to see what the rest of the community thinks.

Just because some LCS team built a bunch of them vs an ALL AD comp doesn't mean they need nerfs.

Ninja tabi works incredibly well against the meta AD champs, especially Graves, so you're not crazy.

Tabis are just overtuned atm. I still feel like sorcerer shoes are really good. 15 pen there, 10 from runes, and 6 from precision and you're doing true damage to any ranged champion that doesn't make MR. They start off with 30 and don't get anymore. I would totally still go item 3047 Katarina if they got alot of ad. If you want MR, merc treads isn't cost efficient. It is a good item though for obvious reasons. Just don't be that guy that rushes merc treads 1st item before anything else for some reason.

Tabi's are the most efficient anti-AD item in the game simply based off the 30 armor and the passive. The MS doesn't even factor into it; the amount of raw damage reduction you get for just 1100 gold is absurd.

As an Ahri player, mercs have always been an option. Tabis not so much, I go Zhonyas if I need armor. But yes, especially Ahri - her true damage makes mpen less valuable on her. More importantly, if there are targetted stuns in the game the tenacity can be very valuable. For mr though, abyssal is also perfectly viable.

On carries, a rule of thumb for me is whatever defenses I need, and then as much damage as possible. "Need" is game specific and learned through experience, and generally means whatever you can't outplay.

Actually berserkers are still good on some champions, the damage creep is what made for most not needed. When Riot made the game faster, they also amped the damage, slow but surely so now things die so fast its stupid. So things like those boots are just not as good as they once were.

I expect games to be 10 to 15 mins on average in 1 or 2 seasons. That being said I expect league will start dying because of it to.

as a teemo main , the sorceres shoes are 100% a must to item. because of the 15% armor pen + extra mov. speed (with W's passive + ludens ) however if you decide not to buy any kinda of shoes , you will be to slow and you will be an easy target

I mean slows, damage, slows and crowd control is through the roof. So buying defensive shoes has become nearly mandatory.

i still build those 2 on adc's and mages just because i like being a glass cannon its harder to play because you need to be more careful about your positioning
