Naw, its been an off and on thing about supports wanting to either deal with any emergency heal saving a lane opponent or to secure kills.

• To be honest, I support with Annie once in a while and sometimes the enemy team doesn't know when to get off my ADC. So I whip out my damage and an ignite on top of that.

• Ignite can also be to reduce healing effects on the ADC.

• Supports also take ignite sometimes to secure kills.

Supports taking ignite does need to stop being a thing.

But the tradeoff is that you have to force two engagements for every one kill. You have to force the opponent to blow flash and heal both before fighting, whereas if you have ignite then you have effectively negated them using heal in an emergency and they are forced to use it to top off before an engagement.

Ignite should be on the ADC but some ADC's are dumb and supports would still like to get even dumb ADC's fed, this is why ignite ends up on the support.

taking ignite with a hard engage support feels mandatory. most adcs shouldnt take ignite, and ignite is a counter to most adcs. seems like a no brainier to take ignite unless you are a poke sup

kill lanes

particularly good against allin ADCs like graves, who is popular right now. particularly good against sustain like nami, which is popular right now.

we're going to be seeing more annie support this season, i think.
